Mid engine Unlimited class 3 buggy

I don't usually do builds but this one should be fun. So i though I would share it.

My goal for this full class 3 tuber is 5.5lbs rtr. It will be 4ws because I don't think I can fit a dig set up in the cab?

It will be a one off tuber but it's based on these buggies.

Plan is 3 link/Panhard front and rear. Full interior. But i will add lights for fun.

And some cool parts which are on the way!

Since I am waiting on the parts, and my drawings on the tube chassis are almost done. I figured I would work on the front wraith axle servo/winch mount. Still needs painted and it gets a new winch with red synthetic cable.



Also I have a set of voodoors u4 tires on the way. Which I am planning on cut/shut down to around 5"

very cool, i have always loved single seaters. being a single seat it actually give you a lot of room to do dig. here is some pics of my old C3 to give you an idea.

Yes the motor and toyzuki mount is in the rear just like the 1:1. The transfer case/half tranny will go beside the driver and seat. Still not certain on dig yet. I may barely have room. Problem is my floor/skid is 2.5"x2". So it will be pushing it. The battery right now just barely fits beside the transfer case. Full seat will be on top of the battery. Yes small battery.

Messed around a little tonight on the chassis. Very tight! Ha,ha. Got the skid made a a couple side rails.



Scx tranny and small 3s lipo just fit on the skid.



The dig unit actually will fit! But I am still unsure if I want to run it or not?
You can see how much smaller this skid is compared to an scx skid.

Great start. For me personally, I love 4WS (instead of dig). It's super fun.

You'd be surprised how long a 1300 can last with a dedicated technical crawler. Super light too.

I was wanting to have both. But i think I would be too tempted to use both (which for the life of me i don't get why you cant?)

So i will do 4ws for the cool aspect.

I am in the middle of a rebuild on my XTV C3 buggy as well.

Got a bunch of parts in. Perfect timing for the toyzuki mount.
225 slw's and 1.5" six shooters should set me right at 10 3/4-11" with the wraith axles.



Didn't realize the toyzuki mount was formed specifically for the scx chassis? No big deal, just have to be a little creative with the tube/mount.

With skinny hex's and the 225's rim to rim measures right at at 10 3/8" and with the wider rims it shold pull the sidewalls in. So I am really happy with the width on wraith axles.

But the Zuki mount has plenty of room for a second mount hole or you could even shave the entire frame "tab" off the mount to make it smaller width wise.

It's a pretty small skid. If I feel it's hanging up to much then I will definitely go delrin. But i wanted the metal skid to support the lower link area so it was pretty bulletproof.
