MitchellY UGC Stingray

Nothing made up yet. I don't think I'm going to run motor gaurds, but if it seems like a problem, I'll figure something out for em.
It would be possible to take like a 1/4" plate of 7075 and machine it with 2 or 3 little holes on the side to screw say a Delrin tube in or something like that. it would just also up the cost

Remind me after I move to redo them and ill cut more weight out if you want. i wasn't thinking when I made them initially to cut more weight out

I should have thought of that too when I drew it up but I drew it in like 5 minutes and sent you the file and than didn't think much of it  His motors are already making it soo light I don't think he's going to notice a very big difference both of his motors with the adapters combined weigh less than a LW 540 motor...

Haha cost won't be an issue "thumbsup" Sounds like a good idea!

Yeah that would be great! Like Eve said, it won't be necessary per say, but if you can lose more weight, why the hell not?

Since the whole motor has to spin, just shrink wrap it if you wanna protect it.

And Haha. You called him Eve. Ryde or die!

Naww shrink tube will tear and catch easier than the smooth metal can. It's a $10 motor anyway. Not to concerned about a few scratches.

Yeah he hates me for that name, but it's easier than typing out his whole name.

Hey that's not funny... I keep telling him that's not my name but he does not get it And no you can't call me that either

Ur right it's not funny.... it's freaking hilarious! And I give you permission to call him Eve Travis :flipoff:

ohh the designer makes an admission :ror: good work Eve!

Ok jokes aside it felt stiff but im not sure how much stiffer it would be if I chopped out a lot.. oh well if $ really isn't an issue I think i got some Titanium... :lmao:

Hey he didn't tell me that so :flipoff: :ror:

Ahh why use Ti when you can use CF  You could use these in it for the threaded parts

And tell me again why you didn't tell me about this before we made the first set?

hey I just cut what was in the image and was asked to materials wise ;-)

Personally I think aluminum is a good choice since it is good at heat transfer. Titanium and composite SUCK at heat transfer! Hence Titanium is a bear to cut

Mitchell check your PM's "thumbsup"

CF is so 2012:flipoff:

Ok I'd like to see your new Ti Minimal and Ti parts on your Dlux axles :flipoff: Oh wait has Calvin not finished those yet? :ror:

I like Eve's idea.. "thumbup" CF motor guards..

I'm not Eve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I didn't say anything about CF motor guards... I was just saying that they could make the motor adapter out of CF....

Ok, so big update! Got both axles decked out fully with aluminum hardware, and got the links all mounted up. Just waiting on shocks, wheels, and 4PL to show up and this thing is running! I stole Everett's $35 7950 and his BEC since he's not using them for anything right now. If you look closely you'll notice a BEC tucked nicely under the servo.

Bet Everett will love that or do you steall each others gear?

Looking good by the way. Nice work.

Haha I got permission ;-) But yeah, we steal each others stuff from time to time... ok, more like day to day. But that's what bros are for right? He usually gets the better end of things
