I use 12mm buttonhead or caphead hex screws to go across the links, (15mm probably better so a little bit sticks out past the nylon locknuts)
25mm caphead or buttonhead hex screws to go across the center truss that attach the upper links
My flex was a little limited, so I removed the stock bump stops from the shocks for better flex

I had fun with it,but wasn't too pleased with the performance. It wasn't bad but I need to sort out the steering. I did more tweaks and went to 4 link front for now.
I was having problems with the links touching with the panhard and steering. I'll revisit it with the axle mod

Here I compare the difference between using 12mm and 14mm buttonhead screws. The 14mm is better as it clears across the nylock nut.
Front 4 link is done and panhard removed
Rear 4 link after the steel tubes over the threaded rod.

eunique, what is the width, in inches, of your axles with the wideners on them?
Removed the wheels...hex to hex, they are 8 1/2" with the wideners

Have you considered ar60s? I dont think you will ever get the most crisp steering with those wideners. I also think the added width would help with crawling performance and overall rig balance.
Thanks. The wideners I'm using are temporary just to get it running. I thought about them (AR60) and I'm sure performance would be better. I just wanted to keep them narrow for closer to scale appearance.
I am converting to XR10 axles and have the parts on the way and will be installed soon.
I thought abiut narrowing AR60s also as another substitute.

I have the XR10 mod on scx axles for my 1/10 scaler and the width is 9.5" outside to outside of the tires.
The AR60 axles are better suited for these Jeeps, o/o measures 11.5".
So, just to let you know, the XR mod won't give you what you want. "thumbsup"

Oh wow...thanks for the heads up.
It's a little late since I had already ordered the parts to complete the front axle. Either way, it will still be better than the stock AX10 axle. But, I will start looking into your suggestion with the AR60. Although I would want to narrow them as much as I can because I don't like them sticking out too much.
