I just completed my very first RC kit build of the RR10 Bomber, if it could ever be considered complete :) It took me a few weeks to complete but I enjoyed every minute. I got into the hobby back in the early 2000's with a Tmaxx nitro but had trouble tuning it and then life happened, wife and two kids. Now I'm back and this is my second crawler, I picked up a TRX 4 a few months ago.

Here is my parts list:

RR10 Bomber kit
Castle Mamba Monster X with Castlelink
Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro 3500kv
Holmes Hobbies HV500v2 servo
Castle BEC with Holmes Rx bypass adapter
Team KNK stainless screw kit
Spektrum DX5C
Incision Method 2.2
Incision #8 Wheel Hubs
Proline Hyrax 2.2 tires
Axial Aluminum Servo Horn
SSD 2 speed kit with servo(not installed)
Tamiya PS paints
CowRC magnetic mat

I think thats everything. I'm wondering what you guys think? and what should be my next upgrade?

Great list of parts! I'm not sure why you want the external BEC when your servo runs directly from a LiPo. Besides, the X series of ESCs have a strong internal BEC.

Other than that it looks great. I love the color scheme. You should embed the photos instead of just linking to them!

The only other things I might suggest are:

Beef Tubes (material of choice depending on the weight you want)
Proline Dual Stage foams for the Hyrax tires
Vanquish Stage 1 kit

Thanks, Holmes Hobbies didnt have the SHV servo that hooked directly up to the lipo so I went with the HV and a BEC. I was thinking of the stage one kit for sure but I thought maybe I need to do the motor mount first or the trailing arms. How do I embed the photos?

Your photo links have an "Embed Code" option at the body. Paste the BB Code option here and you will get this:

I think the HV500v2 runs on the esc bec. The SHV500v2 runs off the battery.

But yeah no bec needed with the Mamba X.

Grab some beeftubes you won't regret it, i put brass up front and aluminium in the rear since my Bomber is more of a crawler.

Thanks, they were a breeze to put together. I've heard horror stories about getting the beadlocks put together but those were super simple. I put one of the plastic kit wheels together for the spare and it took me twice as long to get it right compared to the Incision wheels.

Awesome build! I’d consider spools for the diffs. My stock lockers cracked in half fairly fast, same motor as you on 3S. One of my link rod ends also ripped in half ... so Traxxas rod ends a good idea also, lol!

How did you know that the lockers had cracked? Also, is the aluminum motor mount that important or will the stock plastic hold up for awhile?

The motor mount will flex over time with big brushless power.

For the lockers, if it breaks, Best case scenario you end up with an open diff or wheels stop spinning.
Worst case, it throws metal bits inside the housing and chews through the plastic and/or damages the gears...

Thats what i was told so i went with spools right away.

I had the free-wheeling action and found this when I took it apart:

Here’s a photo of the rod end that failed - it’s the one in the middle

Which spools would you recommend? The incision spools?

Incision are the most common
Holmes Hobbies has one but it's always backordered
I went with the lockedup RC FI spools, they had the lowest shipping to Canada and good reviews.

Do youself a favor and buy the lockedup rc AR60 shim kit (1 per axle) to properly set gear mesh.

Would this be the shim kit you are talking about? Shim Kit: 5mm ID, 10mm ID

Ok so I have run the Bomber a few times now and I have noticed the shocks are leaking. After checking around I think my problem is that when I built the shocks I didn't use any Green Slime, so I bought some. Newb question, do you just use it on the o-rings? Also, I'm going to install the SSD 2 speed kit as well.
