New Axial "working on something fast"

Everyone keeps coming back to them using the same body over and over. Personally I don't give half a flying fawk if they use the exact same body in the exact same color with the exact same accessories so long as they will come out with a new chassis or more importantly new axles. Something like an AR60 with a centered diff with 1/8 scale buggy universal shafts would rock.

Agreed, they could include a pile of dog sh!t with a jeep sticker on it for all I care. Their current chassis and axle line up is great but if they want to come out with something new, well then let's see new. "thumbsup"

Would be nice to see something non-Jeep. Well, the new SCX Deadbolt is not Jeep. What other of roaders are there? Toyota FJ? Really Jeep is it in the real world. I can't think of anything else. Rovers and scale older Yotas are done by other companies. Am I missing a late model truck that is used in crawling full scale?

The Jeep is just the most iconic American wheeler. Of course there was the Bronco, Blazer, Scout... then non American Toyota FJ's, Suzuki, Range Rover. The general public don't identify with any others because the Jeep is so well known. Of course we'd love to see other bodies, but talk to ProLine, JConcepts, HPI and others about bodies.

Well, since the Wrangler is going IS in 2016 maybe we'll get a Jeep bodied EXO.

Since there's such a cozy relationship with Chrysler/Fiat, maybe we'll get a good looking licensed Dodge Ram eventually. For some reason, Rams always seem to get the shaft - always a lot more F150's and Silverados out there. Just wishful thinking really.

I don't think its too much of a stretch that they use the exo platform for a 4x4 shortcourse truck and break into the racing scene? And of course use their sponsored driver Casey Curries JEEP truck?

I don't think that would be a smart move for them. The Exo platform would not be competitive in the short course classes.

wait what? i heard awhile back but figured it was b.s….

Nope, unfortunately, it is true. It'll be IFS front and rear for the new 2016 Jeep Wrangler models. The company indirectly said that they will be using the same components/ design as the new Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.

They did comment on AutoBlog that they are engineering it to perform as good or better than SA. Highly doubtful.

Jeep is officially ruined now. Thanks Fiat.

Last I heard this was not true. It was posted that they were going with lightweight tech to be able to retain the SA.

That is correct. I know that Jeep is going to follow in Ford's footsteps with the aluminum body to save weight.

I haven't read much more on the IFS/SA situation since they first announced that Jeep was engineering the IFS design. To be totally honest, I wouldn't be surprised if they stuck with the IFS as everything else they produce is IFS. Production and part compatibility would be easier for Jeep.

This bull shit rumor has been going around for YEARS! Every new generation picks up the rumor ball and runs with it...

Thanks US government. Stricter safety and fuel mileage standards. Since the Wrangler is one of their highest volume vehicles, weighs heavily on their corp average. Trying to cut some weight. I would wager that it will be IS this time around. While there are a ton of enthusiasts that actually go offroad, sadly the vast majority of off-roading comes from driving through the grass on the way to the soccer field.

Rumor has it the front will lose the iconic grill as well. It'll still be there, just sloped somehow to be more aerodynamic. Time will tell.

We're getting way off track here.

this country was built by men in denim, and will be destroyed by men in suits.

read that somewhere, easy way to sum it up.
