I clocked my front axle today and while I was in there, I noticed that most of the bolts didn't have any locktite on 'em. Maybe I'm just anal, but I went through and locktited all the bolts in both axles. There are 8 bolts inside the gear case, I'd hate to see any of them come out and chew up gears. I'm also not very impressed with the rod ends, but otherwise its a very nice kit. The gears are very sturdy looking, and there is zero slop in the axles"thumbsup" All the clearances are very tight. I'd say they're the nicest 2.2 axles I've dealt with.

The T maxx ends replace the metal ones just fine if you want to use the links themselves.

I've been using revos for a while, I'll prolly stick with them. It's just kind of a bummer, everything else about this kit is great, but the rod ends really suck.

Revo's will work but if you want to keep the original length the Maxx are the way to go.

Mounted up some CAC tuckers...

The first is with the stock Berg hexs and I got 9 9/16" width

The second is with narrower hexs and I got 9 7/16" width

Waiting on the Panthers to show up.

just be carefull running those wheels tucked that close. knuckles and lockouts tend to grab the tires when compressed. coles ripped one of his tires today just playing around at the shop.

Nice to see so many wheels out there narrowing up these axles to most people's desired width!!

For me, I am still running wide, and still not convinced that 11.25" is too wide.;-) At the same time though, Gerame hopefully got my new wheels machined today. Which will be another option out there!!

That's another great thing about the CAC wheels too...

Just add a wider hub and voila, a wider wheel!

One could even have a narrower rear than front.

Yep i kimbo sliced a hammer in Montana the same way running vf assassins. After montana i glued my tire back together and ground down and rounded the screw/nut on the steering knuckle. That may be why it didnt rip my panther not sure? Today @ Raceway a.k.a. The Shop my panthers caught once but didnt tear the tire,thank GOD. All i know is that i need to either make my wheelbase a tad wider or get other knuckles somehow that shoot in more to clear when the tire folds over. New rig,needs tuned a lil:lol:

I started planning Berg Axles only and ordering other parts by myself.
But by reading so many posts, I decided to get a whole kit, start from there!:arrow:
