Stay away from the new traxxas for now... Early running has resulted in several exploding esc's. I used to blast the lakes in my tunnel hulls, nothing like a 27" all wood boat running 65mph on its prop.

Hobbyking has a duel motor burshless cat that has been getting huge reviews and even with shipping is far cheaper than the Traxxas (no no local support).

What you get will partially depend on how you plan to run it. Just out blasting along, the old traxxas Villians were awesome boats. You could sink it, recover it and run it again all day long. A vee bottom will give you the best rough water use and turning. If your someone that likes to get out first thing in the morning when the water is glass and you have a recovery boat handy, get that new aquacraft tunnel hull with the brushless outboard. On glass water it will smoke about any other production rc boat out there. Personally, I would go aquacraft over traxxas no matter what your looking at getting into.

If you like me an like building, check out offshore electrics...

Maybe I can start building my XR10 next weekend.

I have either received or waiting on the mail for:

-Vanquish Front Upper Link Mount
-Vanquish Motor Plates (2)
-Vanquish Gear Cases (2)
-Axial Aluminum Real Lockouts
-HR Chubs
-HR Knuckles
-HR Bullet Weights (24)
-RC4WD Machined Gear Sets (2)
-Rowdy Racing Lipped Battery Mount
-Axial High Leverage Steering Arm
-BWD Delrin HD Links
-Chaotic Crawlers bent SS Steering Link

Already have my 4PL, dual Mamba Micros, dual 35Ts and HS7954. Also tossing between rovers and leopards of which I have both.

So the chassis is whats left. Ron and I are looking at a custom one off, and I am also looking at the Viper, BJV4 and the Hell Storm.

If you have not noticed, I have changes our threads to NIRC " Northern Illinois Rock Crawling"

It does not crawl as well as my scrambler but. Fast, climbs great, It just crawls different. You have to hit it hard to crawl well.

So Fast!!!!!!!!!

I plan to bring both rigs next time I great out to Busse to compare.

I think you have to many toys:flipoff:I feel sorry for indy just sitting there collecting dust may be I need to take her off your hands and put her to use "thumbsup".

Got my TTC rear axle built today, Gunnars Toobs, Aluminum Hexs, Aluminum Lockouts and DMG Axle Brace//4 Link mount. Then I ran out of hardware. Hoping the LHS has 3MM X 4MM hardware. Then I can knockout the front. All the new links are made, Delrin Sleeved SS for the lowers and rear 4 link with solid delrin uppers for the front 3 link. Got the tranny rebuilt with Robinson gears and outputs and the tranny and transfer case mounted with MiIP drivelines. Also got the servo winch finished and now need to work on a mount for it and figure out where to put the electronics. Little more body work on the front a and a lot on the rear. And my Bumpers should be in sometime in the next 3 weeks. Then all I need is a weather break to paint and build the rock sliders and the rear rool bar.

LMAO sounds like another month of work. All while I am building my XR10.

SO what are you working on Brian?

sounds like it is going to be a beast Neil what body will you be running.Speaking of to many toys hows that R1 doing"thumbsup" Also looks like next weekend might be alot nicer
