I'm posting this lil story here only cause it has a little bit of crawler info from a young kid that lives on my block.
I occasionally will take my crawlers out in front of my house and crawl on the 1 lonely rock in my yard .
Most of the time I will blast a lil time away with my revo and R40.
Yesterday I was out with one of my 2.2's just snapping some pics and such. When my kid neighbor walks over and asks about the new proline memory foam. We sit and BS for like 10 mins.
He then explains to me that he tried "shaping" the tire. I asked what do you mean ? He said you know make it skinny. Ok I said narrowing  . Yea that's it he says. Then he says I screwed up and don't want to buy more foams , can you show me how ? Sure I say.
But then he says he wants to show me what he tried after he ruined the foams. Sure I say again.
He pulls the beadlock rings off his proline 2.2 wheels and then pulls the tire off. But then I see his foam and he says hold out your hands. He dumps little dime size plugs with the size of about 10 dimes stacked on top of one another.
He said he was reading how people use airsoft pellets for the "low center of gravity" and was not allowed to have them so he used his fathers gasket punch and made this little cylinder shaped plugs to form the tire while climbing.
Now I know we as big shot crawlers might not take this as the best "mod" but coming from a kid who is 9 and a little slow in learning , I find this pretty damn cool.
I asked to drive his crawler and see how it runs. But he said the was no juice left in the batteries
I have asked his parents numerous times to bring him to a comp and really show what he can accomplish with some competition. But his father says he is terrified of other people making fun of him and telling him he is doing something wrong.
All in all I just wanted to post this and let some of the "n00bs" see and read it and really take notice that if you just sit back and read and experiment you will amaze people.
If this should be in chit chat sorry.
