Official Reveiw,,,Pit Bulls "Rock Beast" 2.2 Prototype

They did well on the conglomerate rock, there is alot of fine dust and rock there. They did lose some traction in the dust and small rocks in the transitions between the rocks but then hooked up when they cleaned themselves out.

real nice man,,that place looks killer,,rig sidehills like a beast,,,,
I put them on my newly built JK 2.2 Scaler and took 1st place in 2.2 at W.Pa.C.'s Crawl and Camp scaler comp Saturday! "thumbsup"
congrats man,,,"thumbsup" thats awesome...

heres some pics i took a while ago and forgot to post them. im running proline oversized memory up front with pl 2 stage memory in back. they had some insane grip but i would switch to pl 2 stage up front because once you get sidehilling they just fold right under. might even try some pl oversized memory with 1/4 inch stock axial foam on each side to give it that support it needs.

Here they are on my 2.2 scaler at the W.Pa.C. Crawl and Camp 2 event this past weekend. Only pics I have yet are of the truck pull. I have them mounted on RC4wd Aluminum Wheels with tapered cut Nova's Foams.

i was at the 4wd jambo in indy this weekend and met mike the owner of pitbull tires. he is a cool guy. i picked up a set for my scx10 TTC build. i cant wait to get some wheels and try them out. he was telling me he is making his own 2 stage foams just for these tires and they will be out in a few weeks.

Mike is cool. The pitbull guys helped me do this...

I picked up an extra set of beast's but the ones on the roof are 37's for my buddy. I can't wait for the new foams. with any luck they will be out for my new Bully build.

This'll be interesting to see how well these work with their tire compound. So far the best I've run are stock Sedona foams in them on a 1" wheel.
You can find them pretty cheap and adding a 3rd slice of another foam would work great on a 1.125 or 1.250 wheel.
Kratos pulled some SICK "up" lines with his set up but it did suffer on side hills and fold over. I think a "rock racer" style course where time was of the essence and obstacles were "grab N Go", that these tires would be perfect, but once you add in off camber angles and such, it suffers from from the foams being to limp. (yeah I just said that.)

i pulled down a -36 at my local clubs comp on sunday with the Rock Beasts and the Dos Piezas combo,,,they seem to be working pretty well,,,i finished with sedonas and rovers in the top 5...my rig is performing pretty well with the combo

well ive been running the Dos Piezas 2 stage foams for a few months now,,during my testing ive been able to find out what these tires are really capable of...Mike and the gang at Pit Bull really came up with an awesome answer to the foam issues for the ROCK BEASTS,,,they are a huge foam,,but paired perfectly for the stout ROCK BEAST,,the outer ring is a soft non memory foam cnc cut for no seams,,and a medium to medium firm inner ring also cnc cut,,,

now in the past ive had very good to great success with Eddies nova foams in various combinations of the DD foam from 5 to 5.5 in combos as suggested by Eddie him self as well as my own ideas,,,but there was always some thing ,,the tires were either over stuffed,,or not filled enough,,the taller stiffer foams worked for me but were bouncy until really broken in,,the shorter foams just didnt seem to fill the tires enough,,,even while having good results on the rocks,,they just seemed like the tires needed more..

I feel the brand specific foam was the answer for the questions of what to use,,these foams really fill the tire properly in my opinion,,and the combo of density's between the 2 rings i feel are matched really well for the full potential of the tires on my rig,,my rig itself is husky at best comin in over 6 lbs at full running weight..these foams support my rig in any and all situations,,ive been able to drive with more confidence that my rig will do what i want it to when i want it too,,and my scores have shown it lately...onto the pics,,,

for size comparison only i have the Dos Piezas on left and Novas DD 5.5 on right
