Official Reveiw,,,Pit Bulls "Rock Beast" 2.2 Prototype

well i absolutely love these tires when it is wet or slick rock. the new foam makes all the difference in the world. they didnt work as well for me on our indoor course as my other tires. id say they worked as good as my chisels but not as good as my hb tires leopards or boss claws. still thinking i need to brake them in since they are showing no wear and this might help out .

Funny since tires aren't made in the usa. Says made in Taiwan on the package.

Doesn't stop the U-S-A chant when my XR-10alicious fitted with Pit Bull Rock Beasts lays down a good old AMERICAN AZZ-Whoopin on course..."thumbsup"

After a practice, kill a battery doin nothing but rear burns and front burns on concrete. Like several others have stated, the more these tires wear, they more they hook.

Good to hear you are on-board with the Pitbulls Brian! So you're liking them? I saw the lines you were pulling in that Facebook video...but you can run Mashers on that rock and still get traction .

I'm lovin' them and I'm working on the video of the slick rock that every tire had issues with, but the Rock Beasts at the least, I went straight up through the gates and had to get out of the 35T Brood before I caught air.

After watching them work and driving them on your scaler, I was convinced that the Pit Bulls are a contender in the 2.2 comp scene.

Sweet, glad to hear you like them. They are a great tire, can't wait for some 1.9's for my new scaler.

Hey guys, I am looking for info on this tire I just ordered a set with the foams should have them tomorrow and then I have a comp on Tuesday night then one on Saturday, so is there any sipping or cutting of lugs that is making this tire work better or just put the foam in and run them thats what I would normally do and then make changes my self but I do not have much time before my comps and they are important ones.

Thanks for any input and help.

there hasnt been any reason to sipe or cut these,,get them and run em,,a few guys have said they run a pack or so through them just doing frt and rr burns (dig) just to get them to break in a smidge,,other than that i just run em out of the bag,,good luck with them,,hope you like em,,"thumbsup"

Finally got a chance to run a set with the matching foams and absolutley love them......mounting them on my .7 slws sucked but they look and work great! Cant wait to get more run time with these they hook!

Glad to hear that I am going to be putting them on a set of turned down .7 DH fronts and .7 SLW rears I was wondering if the wheel was going to be to narrow for the wide tire I run sadona's now but want to try something different, I just ordered a set of 41.5 Pit bulls for my 1 to 1 and can't wait to see how they work all so.

Thanks for the info guys.

Well we prolly dont need any more opinions but what the hell, I'll give mine....

Got them today, got them mounted up on DH's and .7 slw's. Was impressed with how easy they mounted, compound feels great too. I cant see how this was considered a scale tire by anyone, but thats just my opinion. I like how well it narrowed up on the .7s too.

To be honest I figured I would probably get a pack through it then be ready to pull them off and get rid of them...but I dont think so yet. I ran one pack through them on my indoor course and right off the bat made two lines I havent yet made with my rovers. Also was able to just creep slowly up most lines that I usually need alot of wheel speed to make with rovers....But after about 20 minutes (also cold by this point) I had alot of trouble making some fairly simple lines that I never have had trouble on before.
For sure gonna give these a chance to impress me more for a while.

But I would say without a doubt that its another sweet comp tire to chose from...Thanks Pit Bull!

x2 on the break in procedure. I still do front burns and rear burns on the back patio to end a session in the compound and it is true, the more these tires wear, the more they HOOK. Just burn the new-ness off of them and enjoy. Great choice of wheels, too.

The kennel is getting bigger, but the Pit Bulls can't be caged, you not gonna want to stop driving when you realize the lines you can pull with these tires. I am amazed everytime I put Pit Bull Rubber to rock! "thumbsup"

I am sure you won't be dissapointed, just make sure you burn some batteries digging. Don't be affraid to leave rubber shavings on the ground. There is still a Pit Bull burn out on Hobbytown of Rocklin's sidewalk! (oops, I forgot any blatent display of tire dominance in the Republic of California is subject to jail time)

Tires are like a new girlfriend, you have to feel them out completely to really know what their likes and dislikes are. Once you get them broke in, then taking that backdoor bonus line or lighting the lipos to jump the V-Crack becomes second nature once again.

I think people like them as a scale tire because of the attention to detail and they look similar to the real thing. I will let you know how the work as a scale tire at the end of the month. I will be running them in the RECON G6 at Sacramento; the Folsom G6 Blues. I have no doubt that these tires will eat up what ever the compitition has lace up. "thumbsup"

true, very ture. I like to judge all tire right from the get go though. I like a tire that starts out as a bad ass tire and finishes its life as a bad ass tire. But I can imagine these are like most, they will get better the more they wear.
