Opinions on Vp cvd's ?

Hey guys...not to be the inventory police, but any chance the SCX VVD's will be back in stock soon?

Are these compatible with beef tubes?

Just read the whole thread, looks like it wouldn't be advisable to run beef tubes with these.. axle upgrade might be in order.

I've ran these in my pro4 powered wraith with 2 speed tranny with no issues, love em!

But the scx10 VVD's lasted a whopping 5 minutes in my fresh built truck. Very disappointing. I hope Vp can help me out.

i haven't read the whole post, but on my Ridgecrest I just tried to slide them in and the link screws are too tight together to let the shaft move freely. I guess I just need to grind off some of the bolt to let the shaft pass but I think the diameter should've been made a little smaller to alleviate this issue. Or am I the only one that this has happened?

thanks

That's completely normal. They made the shafts as beefy as possible so we don't break them. In my Wraith I just let it rub on the screws, eventually it'll clearance itself. Oh and to put the shafts in you need to take those bolts out then slide the shafts in and the bolts should go back in and they will rub like I said before.

yeah, i clearanced the bolts, also had to extend the flat and grind down a bit of the end. it kinda sucks for a 100$ part, but at the same time everyone seems to be happy about vp. I had all the Tools to make it happen and it wasn't a bit issue, just something I didn't expect. as long as they don't break on me with the stock motor and gears on the Ridgecrest,(not that I'm hard on my rc) I'll be plenty happy with them.

on a happy note, I love the extra 10 degree of turning I got and the other 8 is waiting on my wider wheels to try. it already makes a huge difference

First problem I've had with them. Been in the truck a little over 2 weeks now and seen probably 50,000 mah of 3s with a MMP 3800 and an RC4wd AX2 transmission.

I went looking for replacement parts on the site but couldn't find them. I'll shoot an email across soon.

I'm not complaining about it really, just a heads-up for whoever buys them about what to look for. if you go to put the shafts in and the knuckles don't seem to line up, don't force it, you'll have to either elongate the flat at the locker or shorten the shafts themselves only if both of them push each other when you slide them in.

I didn't care for doing this just for the fact that I can take much better lines now with the added steering or reposition way easier. thanks VP

Individual parts are on their way. You will be able to buy just what you need to replace a broken or worn part and also buy individual complete axle shafts for custom jobs.

There are so many pictures of broken VP vvd's that I won't even bother to post mine. Contacted VP and got a response about 5 days latter asking for a picture. Pic sent and a day latter got a response asking for my address. Haven't heard from them in a couple days but pretty sure my replacement parts are in the mail.

If I could do it over again it would be super 300's for sure, especially after scanning through the carnage in this thread.

I have been running a set in my scx10 since they first came out...... always on a 35t/ 3s and a few runs on mmp/ 13.5 redline on 3/4s and never had a problem. Most problems seem to occur when running pro4 3+ cell lipo power:shock:
