yes, the shafts are of a metal that I cannot turn down yet so I have been unable to test them. I am getting different bits. The motors themselves look very nice. Three standard size bearings support the shaft, the bearing tube is nice and long, the shaft is press fit into an almost 1/2" long section on the can and it has grub screws to hold it. The wires are stranded silicone too. Very nice little motors.

Sweet i can't wait to see them. They sound like they are heavier than the revolver? How about price are they more or less?

Price is floating around 75-85 for each motor. Ya get what you pay for, as they say. Once I figure out which motor lengths work best I will know the price. They are a bit heavier, 3.9oz vs 3.5oz of the revolver.

My motor has done this from the start too but I didn't think much of it do to the fact that I'm not familiar with this motor or setup. Should I look in to a new motor or is there a way I can fix it??

I must have missed your post, sorry!

Which esc are you using? Can you describe the noise as a scraping or an audible screech as you start? Does the noise last through the entire rpm range or just the startup?

Dang I am behind the curve! I will empty the box right now, and I do not have any Revolvers in stock. I just got the tools to turn down the shafts on a few new motors I have. As soon as I can slip a standard pinion on you bet I will let this site know what I find.

my last presale was so crazy (it took me three days of 8 hour packaging to catch up) that I dont feel comfortable doing that again. Not only that, I dont know when I will get revolvers back in stock or what the final price (or can length) on my newer motors will be.

Im a bit frustrated right now about the motor situation! It needs to be easier for us crawlers!

I'm useing Mamba 25. The noise is a honk (as best I can discribe), dosen't sound ike it's scrapping. It only dose it at low rpm up to about 1/4 throttle. When I hold the motor in my hand you can feel it vibrate. I assume it has something to do with the motor shaft drag on the bushings.

The mamba 25 does create quite the noise when it starts up a motor. I would actually describe it as a honk when you startup. Without actually hearing it, I cant really say what the noise is though.

Ive noticed several things with mine, the motor makes differnt tones on different setting. and it squeals like a stuck pig when the batteriese are starting to die. at startup under load it does squeal a bit.

Power!

Cloak got hung up and couldn't keep his sausage off the trigger.Snapped the shaft and the motor kept going.I'd buy one now.Nice product John.

BL-owned!

It sounded bad too. Floyd tells me it looks like I took a saw to it how it snapped so cleanly.

BTW John, you'd be so proud today. I had 3 of my trucks running: one for me, one for my 7 year old and one for my 5 year old, all brushless. DJ was getting motor-envy there. ;)

Ok I have pulled the Revolver apart and carefully inspected it, cleaned it, oiled the bearings, put it back together ran it and it was still making that "nosie" so I pulled it apart again and ran it with out the mounting face on it and it is deffinetly rubbing. It starts out smooth and about 1/4 throttle it starts "honking" and it "honks" till about 1/2 throttle and then it runs smooth again. It's like the can is off balance (similar to a car tire you don't notice it at low speeds but at about 40mph it starts to shake and then it gose away when you hit 50 or higher)

I looked into other motors and can't seem to find one that will work. Most of the outrunners have small wires that wrap around the arm. and they can't handle the amps or heat and don't generate as much torque.

Anyway I'm very frustrated and at this point, I have no choice but to go back to a 55t lathe :-(

Buddy of mine said screw it, and keeps running it with the rub. What's there to lose at this point?

While you had it opened up, did you see any points of contact, or rubbing?

Do to the pressed in shaft it would be very hard to pull the arm. out. I was thinking if I could pull the arm out I could see were it was rubbing and just file it down a bit. I did put some oil down the sides of the magnets on the can and it helped quiet it down for a short time.

I haven't noticed any loss in performance but when the UTRCRC boyz and I go out crawlin they all think brushless sucks do to the aweful noise, dispite the increase in power.
