If you get totaly frustrated with the revolver, check out the park 400. They're great little high quality motors ;-)

Naz-T and Cartron:

Although Im out of Revolver motors for a while, I would be willing to give you one of my used motors in replacement at this point. You seem to have the last ones that came from the factory rubbing. The ones in my Nats crawler only got 15 minutes of runtime or so. Whaddya say?

Sure as long as it dosn't put your rig down for the count (I hate to see a parked crawler);-)

shoot me a PM

Hey JRH , i was only wondering if it will affect the motor adversely at all, if not and it doesn't hurt performance i really would hate for you to go the unnecessary trouble. But if you think i will damage the motor or esc by all means send it.

squeal

Mine has done that from the start and my motor and esc. get pretty warm to the touch . Do you think I got one of the bad ones as well ? If so how can I resolve this problem ? Its the mamba esc. and revolver I got from you at nationals .

If the motor was scraping from the start, you probably got a bad one. Check it out to make sure it is clean inside though. While the motor is mounted up, take a hammer to the shaft and tap the rotating can off the motor. There should be a little brass retaining ring that is holding the can on. If you dont have the retainer, you can just yank the can off the motor.

I will see what I can do, I might be able to scrounge another Revolver for you, but it will be a used one.

I am thinking very seriously about this issue. Out of the motors I have sold, about 10% have had manufactures defects. Even though the price is good, the quality and longevity of the motor is questionable. I would rather find another motor for the application at that price point or offer my lathing services. I am looking intensively for other options.

So to answer your question, this incarnation of the Revolver might have seen its last importation by me. The quality has let down quite a few of my customers, as well as myself.

Sorry to hear that, I've read lots of good things about them.

I went to your website and you didnt have any brushless for sale there. Are you still selling brushless motors? If so I have no clue what I'm looking for. My knowledge of electronics tells me not to stick a fork in a socket, outside of that nothing. I want something that has decent power but isnt going to choke my wallet, if it chokes my wallet my old lady will choke me.

I have some motors of the same specs on the way, should be shippable by end of week. They will retail $80 each, as the construction and finish is much nicer. Us crawlers really put the hurt on motors, but I am hoping they will last 5 years or more with proper care. From the looks of construction and ability to replace bearings and shaft, it is promising to me.

Part of the increased cost is the output shaft, every motor in this size class will need the shaft turned down.

Dear Johnrobholmes

I'm in the process of building a custom HPI Super Electro Rally. I plan on using a stampede tranny and hooking it up to the remainder of the cars gear. The diff gear is a 38 tooth count and the input is 13 count. Now here is the deal I dont want to spend a brazillion dollars on my setup but want to be able to just swap it into either a crawler and or my stampede also. I also need some torque and wheelspeed from this setup for the rally conversion. I have 3000 Mah batteries they sell at tower for about 20 bux each. Do you think it would be worth it for me to buy one of your setups (brushles) or should I just have a brushed motor for the rally thing and keep my existing lathe for my crawler and stock motor for the pede? please help a Brushless newbie out. I forgo to mention the Rally car uses the Super sized wheels with corresponding tires

There is no system that will do it all really. If you want speed, an inrunner will work with the gearing in your Pede and your Rally.

The closest thing I could think of for what you want would be a Novak crawler esc and SS 5800 motor. In your crawler you could use a gear reduction, in the other two you wouldnt need anything. This is gonna cost $$$ though.

Any replacement systems yet? I have a tube chassis on order with Double J that I'd like to use a brushless setup in. Using a Pede trans with TLT axles of course. It will be a basher/crawler so a little bit of speed would be good. Any ideas? Thanks. Bob

Post 251, just a few above you. I am just getting the first motors sent out today. The time involved lathing each motor is gonna make this a slower turnaround for each order. I still have not made a vendor thread for the motors, or put them on my website. I wanted to make sure I could accomplish the task to some backorders before I offered them to the general public.
