I wonder if any of the other photo hosts will follow.

It is however backed up and running in a server and RAID array to prevent downtime and loss. While the quote is funny - it's more to scare people than to give information.
Until CD/DVD readers are a thing of the past. That time has already come. Getting an internal CD/DVD drive in a laptop is about impossible on modern laptops. Next will be desktop - but wait until THIN clients return. No more powerful PCs just minor devices to display what a server/cloud/SaaS server is running. Then how will your ancient coffee mug holders do you for data access?
So when my current plan expires, I assume I'll be forced to upgrade to the $399 if I want to keep using it for 3rd party hosting?
So basically what you are saying is you somehow-last-minute got grandfathered into a sweet deal so you get another year... but this helps us how exactly?I just wanted to throw this out there. It may not work anymore, but I just got an "ad-free" account with PB a month or so ago. They encouraged the big $ plan, but I don't use them a lot, so I went with the bottom dollar deal .... $14.95 for the year, but they had emailed me a $10-off code, so it only cost me $4.95 for the year's sub'. No extra space, but no ads and my pic's still work in my threads .... so far anyway. That may change, and we'll see what renewal will be next year, but so far, so good. Just a possibility, may be easier than shifting pic's elsewhere. Even $14.95 beats the crap outa $300 or more.

Just got that email as well. RIP 75% of the build threads on RCC...
Damn why wont that work for me? Strangely enough Facebook works (although it's obviously not a good backup method, lol). Just click on an uploaded picture so it's full-screen, right-click and select "Copy image address", then click the "Insert Image" button on the reply panel and paste there...
