photobucket what happend

no i mean is there a fast way to download them from photobucket to my harddrive. ie rather than right clicking each photo individually
ive probly got 20-25 albums and thousands of pictures

STANG download the Photobucket app on your Phone. You can Save to Phone Full Albums that way.

This is Crap. It's basically Ransoming your Photos for money.

If you bring up the album and look to the right of the pics, you will see a section of clickable options in a grey that somewhat contrasts with the main color of the back ground. You can click where itnsays download album, then it makes you prove that you are human (not making that up) by clicking on a box that bas you looking at pics and identifying and clicking on the ones that match what they want you to look for (not making that up either), Then you can request a download, where they send a link to the email account the account with them is tied to (yup, that's real too), then you open said email in the next 24 hours and click on the link in the email that send you to another PB page that you can click on a blue box that allows you to download your pics (no tall tales here)..........then rinse, wash, repeat for every fawking album:roll:

Oh, and even then, I had to download an album per pic of some of my drawings too and can't even get the above to work worth a damn half the time:x

Don't be surprised if I start to mumble something about of screwing them with the John Hancock Center or Sears Tower (or whatever it's now called) and it might be a good idea to get concerned if I start meantioning using Illudium Q-36 comes up by the time I'm done saving what pics I didn't already purge...............:???:

This seriously sucks.
All my threads and posts are trashed. No warning, no compromise.
Fair enough if they'd stopped all future 3rd party hosting, but to retrospectivly hold all my pic to randsom is totally out there.
No way is Photobucket getting ANY of my money.

Surprised that PhotoBucket did a surprise Kamikaze on everyone.

Still have my images working as of now. Guess it'll die a slow death as I won't pay the $400 yearly random.

Good bye PhotoBucket, it was nice knowing you. I bid you Adieu, you MF.

Ransom...... How are they holding anything ? Seriously all they are doing is stopping some 3rd party sites. All pictures are your property until you give them up, I copyright all, before posting with PB.
You can delete all your shared albums if you like

forget the word ransom... its a dick move for photobucket to quite literally withhold something and demand more payment for it.

i think alot of people would agree that the value pb provided to its customers was hosting pics for 3rd party websites, and not as an alternative to cloud storage or other archiving methods.

theres alot of people who used photobucket strictly to upload and then post links to, and now those people have nothing but a bunch of dead links on 3rd party sites where they have invested a shitload of time documenting or posting content.

Its worse than that- I know people who had ALL their pics wiped out just now 0 and they contacted them and the reply was "whoops our bad! It was a glitch."

The last time I went there many of my pics were gone too, but I don't have anything on there exclusively.

I'm not happy or sticking up for PB, but as a photographer I take MY images seriously . All my work is on DVD and or my portable HD, and all my layers and .psd files are safe on my cloud.
PB was the only game , but time has passed them by. I just post images thru Tapatalk as they remote host.

yes, archiving is important.

imagine if adobe cloud increased the usage fee of lightroom to like 10 times what it is now, and made it so if you didnt pay you couldnt open up your existing .lrcat files from your shoot edits. i see the shit pb is doing as basically the same thing.

I've used adobe photoshop for years, then the subscription fee for access to the software you paid for already came around . I didn't as I don't do 3D and I have a good workflow already with what I have. Sadly all want to get paid for development of software.

So where is a good place to upload pictures and be able to have them securely stay on the threads?

I'm using Microsoft OneDrive now.
No issues.

Luckily You dont need the cloud to use Lightroom once you install it ;-) ..... just need it for the updates.

Lightroom is incredible but its made things too easy. Its like how the iPad made everyone photographers, Lightroom has made everyone professionals lol.

Agree though, PBucket has given their servers away for free long enough. Not surprised they went this route but very surprised at the light switch decision to kill so many people at once. They use to have bandwidth limits on free accounts then charge for a yearly fee for unlimited bandwidth. I would have been happier with that.

Thankfully only my RC pictures were ever really on them. All my other pictures are on my own photo site, Flickr, Smugbug and RedBalloon plus my own servers have no bandwidth caps. Just a pain in the arse that I have to redo my vendor threads. :x

I clicked on their Up-Grade plan ad I get every time I check my PhotoBucket and it is a $39.99 Plan.
Nothing about 3rd Party Hosting..
$40 bucks a yr might not be a bad deal to keep PhotoBucket links.
Or..
If enough people hold out, Maybe their plan Pricing might change?
Is it worth it?

Okay, dug a little bit Deeper..

Plus 500 offers 500GB of Storage, Unlimited Linking and 3rd Party Hosting* $399.99 / YR

WTF!???

Hopefully there will be enough people to hold out and the price will drop.
I'd do $9.99 a month.
Drop in the bucket considering all.

You can actually get 3rd party images hosting for as little as 5.99 a mo or 59.99 a yr. Still way to much money IMO.:flipoff:
