ford vs.cummins

you guyz do know that ford owns cummins. dodge buys the cummins motor from ford. how stupid is that why doesnt for put the cummins in their trucks even though i dont like ford. dodge is da bomb

You guys see the article in the new diesel power mag, the cummins will now be a 6.7l  available now in cab and chassis. '07 for 3/4 and 1tons

Come on man it's a cummins, how do you think it will do;-) The new injectors are only runnin at 30% on that bad boy. Think about what it could do with a edge box:twisted:

You guys need to figure out what exactly you're talking about. Stock power, reliability, efficiency, OR; Modified power, reliability, efficiency.

Stock for stock it's the Dirtymax all the way. Three trucks, simularly weighted, geared, and equipped, and you're looking at straight power boys. And the numbers don't lie, Chevy has the most HP and TQ in the class. I think that would also make it the most efficient as well, obviously. As for reliability, GM may have a lot of problems, but it ain't with diesels or small blocks.

If you're talking modified than the whole question is kind of void. Any problems that one brand may have can be fixed.

Anyone who is still doubting needs to see the vid of all three diesels duking it out in a parking lot. The one where the Max drags the other two across the asphalt.:D

I'll see if I can dig it up...if someone else finds it first feel free to post it.

this thread could not have come along at a better time, why? I just started looking for an RV and the engines used in them are the same ones that are discussed here. after reading this entire post Iam now looking only at RVs with the Cummins.
oh, and to add my opinion to this, everyone has been downing the Duramax for being made by Izuzu, well look at all the delivery box trucks around your area, alot of them are, get this, Izuzu. That company has been making work truck engines for many years. still wouldn't buy a GM product though, I've driven many GM cars and trucks and I've never felt attached to the road as well as in a FOMOCO or Chrysler product.

you all keep baging on ford but can your trucks pull in over drive

and plus chevy and dodge kepp burnig up u cant keep them a year without buing another one

but the older fords are the better ones

and i will admit that dodge and sevy transmissions suck

ford does not sell cummins engines because cummins is a semi engine duh

people that drive duramax suck why chevy is the werst rated truck

and ford is the highest rated truck on the market

plus u people like chevy and dodge because their cheap

um yah were going to have to delete the druamax. if you would relly stop talking about that truck that would be great. Lumburg

You guys need to read more. Ford does not own cummins. They had a small market share back in the 90's, but Cummins bought them back. I have a 600whp cummins monster

The cummins takes advant, of torque-inpart- by having larger cylind's, which gives more torque than more smaller cyl. And, also has more power than the p.s. hey I didnt notice the abbrev. till now! :) Cummins rule!! I love the sound/perf. of them. all about the chugga-chugga-chugga, baby!;-)
