I deal with all kinds of diesel's in my day.. Mog's, Chevy, Ford, Int, Freight Liner, Kenworth, and Pete's. Cummins to me are the best all around Engine for the F750 and under size truck, bigger then the CAT.

Now if you look at the F750 and under truck frame (no drive line) they are in, then Ford. The frame rails are the strongest of the big 3. The Chevy Kodiak is just a pain.

And I know a lot of guys here like the mog, but I hate it with at passion. Frame is weak a all get out, and god help you if you have to put a custom built platform on it that has to hold any kind of weight that wasn't made by Unimog.

Lets face it ALL GM vehicles are hard to work on! They put **** in the stupidest places and there is tons of sh*t to go through.

Stock U1300L unimog bed will hold 20,000 LB load, how much more did you need in a medium duty truck?

weak frames? are you serious? have you driven and or owned a mog at all? I think you are alittle mistaken.

Had to add a 4x3x1/4wall tube from mid engine all the way back and it still flexed, and that was with UNIMOG's blessing. They didn't like what was done to make stop. your don't notice it much till is 4 foot in the air on jacks.

The frame of a mog has about 60% frame strength of a F750.

Oh, and the engine in the machine is a cummins 6BT turbo diesel (359 cubic inch), 400 gals of water in the tank behind the cab and has the space to hold up around 2,000lbs of tooling.

If I could keep it stock I'd buy a powerstroke, but I can't resist the big power upgrades. so I loves my cummins, next would be the Duramax. psd guy do a search on diesel performance then you'll know what we're talking about. I like powerstrokes but they can't put out the power like a cummins or a duramax.

So true.....I like the way dodges sound. Im around diesel performance stuff all day long at the shop...its relatively inexpensive to do the basics; Edge, Snow Performance, Banks...The look on peoples faces when you smoke them in a 7000lb truck is priceless.

HighHp...do you attend a lot of Diesel Events?
Were all hitting this up: http://www.extremedieselshowdown.com/

I don't attend events that much. The last one I was at ,was the Norcal diesel rally in Redding. it was put on by J&H performance. My buddy goes to as many as he can. I don't remember what month it is I miss placed my issue of Diesel Power. I will have to ask him which one it is but, his truck made in the top ten challenge on the west coast. If you have the issue it has the silver 3rd gen on the cover with the stacks rollin on 40's w/ 22's. any way my buddys Dodge is the blue extened cab short bed. 6" dick cepeck lift w/ 37" toyos & 17" KMC's. He dynoed at 673hp & 1400fptq.
