and BTW Im PISSED, I got them and they arent any bigger than the Flat Irons, they say they are a BIT bigger but if anything they are smaler :x:x:x
I just got a set of the 1.9's and I gots ta say they are the MOST scale best working tire ever BUT too small
Seriously?? :x That is
not what I wanted to hear. I came real close to pulling the trigger on these last nite, now I'm glad I talked myself into researching things a little deeper.
Do you have any pictures you could post of the TSL's and Flat Irons side-by-side?
I just rebuilt my entire chassis, and I did some tube fenders and altered my HiLux body to be able to run a slightly larger tire than the Flat Irons I've been running. I've been looking at the 1.9 TSL's because they look incredible, and in the few vids I've seen they seem to perfom well.
I've been looking at:
RC4WD Rok-Lox (4.5")
RC4WD Rock Crusher II (4.33")
Pro-Line TSL (4.3" according to Pro-Line's site)
According to Pro-Lines site, 1.9 Flat Irons are 4.2" - According to my ruler here, my unused G8 spare measures exactly 4". Go figure. I don't know if Pro-Line is deliberately fudging the numbers for marketing purposes, or if someone there just has problems properly reading a measuring device.
Here's what they are going on, with 1.9 Flat Irons on it now. I really want a slightly bigger tire:
And a shot at close to fully flexed. I made room in my tube fenders for bigger tires (and in my spare tire rack as well - I can't bring myself to run a spare that doesn't match the rest of the tires, I think it looks bad) but now the dilemma is which tire will look the best and be the size I want w/o being too big.
Ya'll think Rok-Lox are gonna fit in there? It will flex a bit more if being forced by the terrain, it's just sitting on a table here.
Tire shopping for a scale truck is a beee-atch these days. Too many choices and not enough hard data about them. I guess the only way to really know if a tire is the right size for any given build is to pony up and buy them. Then Ebay them if they don't work out for you. Total PITA. Why can't we just have the data we need to make an educated choice for Christ's sake??!!?
