Rate the last movie you watched

Liked for Cobie Smulders. was great to see her playing the badass Maria Hill in the avengers movies! she can "take me to the mall" any day lol

Casting Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher is one major deviation, as Jack Reacher is supposed to be 6'5" and quite large. Tom Cruise is what? 5'8" on a good day?

In the comics Wolverine is short 5'3", In the movies they have Hugh Jackman, who is around 6'2".
He did a great job playing Wolverine, but he's too tall.

Sounds like they should have cast Tom Cruise as Wolverine and Hugh Jackman as Jack Reacher. :lmao:

I will say Jackman would make a better Reacher than Cruise a Wolverine.

Don't you mean Robin Sparkles.:lmao:

soooooo the last jedi made bazillions... how?

yeah i know, "because STAR WARS." but it was equally long and its no comparison that as a film, blade runner was just... better. and that's coming from a huge star wars nerd.
i also side wirh durok, i can watch something for HOURS if its good.

Transformers: the last knight, or even the one before that... i dunno it was the first one with Walberg? good example of how awful it is to sit through something long AND crappy. borderline torture. i fell asleep like shia lebeouf.
* age of extinction. it was so bad i didn't even bother watching the last knight.
i do, however, have high hopes for the bumblebee standalone! (its set in the 80's and he will actually be a VW beetle!)

Just to be fair, I didn't get into any of those for the same exact reasons.

For the box office differences, only reason I can think of is the other two are connected to recent movies that are part of a series. Blade runner had a 30 year gap in movies. Not to mention their targeted demographic too. You ask my nephew what Star Wars or Transformers is and he can rattle that shit off from memory. You ask him what Blade Runner is you get a blank stare. Parents will take their kids to see those movies, no matter what.

Being a pre-teen when the original came out, I'm still going to have to watch the original first, as I probably haven't seen it in about 20 years and need my memory refreshed.

Haha yes exactly, you understood my reference! "thumbsup"
To the uninitiated, cobie smulders played robin on a great tv show called how i met your mother, and during one episode they (her friends, the rest of the cast) discover her character was a canadian childhood pop star named robin sparkles with 3 hit singles, the first one they found was called lets go to the mall! :lmao:

Watch that show if you havent, its worth it i promise you!!!

Anyway yes watch the original blade runner. I do it about every other year at least. Fantastic bit of film, that one. Rutger hauer's monologue at the end is one of the best ever.

And i totally get why star wars would destroy just about anything else in box office, just trying to poke holes in you reasons why blade runner 2049 didnt
Just messin with ya a little, im harmless really;-)

Would’ve seen Black Panther, but apparently...I’m not supposed to because I’m white. I need to be respectful & wait until Black people give us white folk the okay...

If you are basing that on the "tweets" that came out of white people being assaulted, they have been debunked as frauds.

I am pretty sure if you show up, they would actually respect you. I dont usually go the first week a movie is out, unless its star wars ;)
But if this is like every other marvel movie i have seen, im sure its worth it. Well aside from iron man 3 they are all good.
Im curious what the vibe is in the theater though. Maybe i will go? Im in san diego, pretty good mix of culture and i can easily feel comfortable in any of them.

About the only thing that will get me to pay for a theater experience these days is Star Wars stuff. Other than that, I'm content to wait for On-Demand. Now, movies hit OD so fast, it isn't such a big deal to wait.

I went to Black Panther, there was large black family (had to be close to 20 in the group) they were all bitching about some of the tweets from whites about how whites should not attend opening day. most were like "hell na more the better, this does good they'll make more"

It was good, well done, stands on its own with just enough to tie into the rest of the Marvel line up.

and since someone brought up The Color Purple, that's a dam fine film, if you haven't seen it, add it to your list of stuff to watch.

It's a Marvel movie, not the Color Purple. Don't over think it.

lol tell that to the people watching it like bubba described.
sometimes you have to overthink stuff for the people who will REALLY over think it.

that's just the way things are in today's hyper-sensitive society.

(just FYI i am the command equal opportunity manager at work. i literally get trained in this sort of thing and i actually take it seriously.)

Black Panther 4/10

Boring film.
Integrating tribal life with advanced technology is dumb. Lacked a good story.

Seemed like a low budget film with 80 % of funds invested in marketing hype.

A Dog's Purpose 8/10

Wholesome, family friendly emotional roller coaster ride about life, from a dog's viewpoint.
