And keith how do you like yours? I was reading over your build thread a lil earlier today.

Yeah, man. I love it. Can't stop messing with. I know people dis the knock off brands but its put together as well as anything else I've bought. It's your typical rtr. You have to check the screws and stuff. Check out my video if you haven't already.

Turtle, no doubt they look killer. What are your thoughts on the overall quality of the chassis?

Put some tape or make some type of cover for the bottom of the chassis under the spur gear or the dirt and rocks will chew it up quick.

Oh yeah. Its not necessarily rocks getting in there its trying to get them to come out again. The have no where to go and they end up staying in there and chewing everything up.

Associated chassis protector is probably the best thing to get, but tape is a good temporary fix.

Overall I think the quality is pretty darn good, the best part is all the aftermarket support, there are more hop up options for this car then anything else I have ever seen.

I have had this car for a few months now and it handles dirt and tarmac equally well, there are a few things that could to be modified out of the box, but overall it is a pretty solid vehicle.

Yes, but I can't remember off the top of my head. I have so many cars it's tough to keep them straight. :lmao: I will go look at it and try to remember what I have done.

Well Fed Ex delivered a box today....Yeah baby....woohooo!

Couldnt wait to unbox it and snap a pic or two.

All I can say is...wow, nice man. Popped a 2s in and went for a drive, all be it a cautious one and anyone who reads these threads and is into the rally scene, knows what I'm talking about when I say that this particular car looks really, really cool throwing roost and going over little jumps. Must be the retro look but it's neat as heck.

Took a couple shots with the lid off to show the chassis and the LED system which is pretty cool itself. I personally can do without the turn signals and they'll be disconnected tomarrow.

Now I'm going to have to pick Ty's brain for some set-up and tuning tips. Boy I hope it don't rain tomarrow.

dam it looks good. I'm a basher @ heart. Dont like onroad @ all anymore. Is getting a rally a good idea for me. Another thought was getting a 4x4 slash or a ten scte and throwing @ rally body on it.

Its the best beater rally car out there. Nice and big, drives great and can take a beating really really well.

If your looking for something that can go a lot of places, handle a lot of terrain and handle a abusive driving style that is the rally car for you. "thumbsup"

Yep sure are. The quality is nice and the fit is great. ;-)

I'm lovin the Iveco Trakker truck body, but I don't think they've quite got the chassis/wheel/tyre combo right Shouldn't it have bigger wheels/tires like, I assume the real trucks do. It looks have regular Rally car ground clearance too, not what the real truck would have.

If they sell the body on it's own, might have to put one on the wish list to go on the XV-01 chassis with bigger tyres.

I just received confirmation that in fact that Ford Focus body will be released this spring!

I have not heard anything on this yet though.

Ty, I have a question...do you use your Fiat? I don't see pic's or videos of it.

The reason I ask is because of my ball diff problem (trashed 3 rears). I want to know if your stock or upgraded the balls.

I was thinking about getting some from Avid and rebuilding them again to see if better balls make a difference...I think I read that in a reveiw in a mag that one should do this from the start because the cheap metal balls go away rather quickly.

Just looking for some advice or opinion on that before I chunk a 1.00 a ball x 14 to rebuild these things. Man, the gear diffs can't come soon enough!

Also got a Lancia Delta S4 body to put on the XV-01. Too many Subies out there, lol and I love that retro look!

Personally I see the ball diff problem being similar to that of the DF03, it wasn't the gears or the balls that were the issue, it was the plastic outputs melting down and fusing to the diff gear. I have the new all metal ball diffs in mine currently and there are no issues as of yet. I don't drive it a ton because I have the XV-01, but it gets a little bit of drive time every so often.

I did have a rear diff failure, right after I went brushless a little while ago, but it was a stock diff with stock settings and appeared to have the same issue the DF03 did.

If your really having issues perhaps try getting the lockers for the time being, its not going to improve handling, but will help things stay in one piece till the gear diffs come out... Assuming it doesn't transfer the issue to another area...
