RC4WD Gelande II D110 Truck Kit w/Hard Body build/review

I recently traded my wraith for a D90 G2 and stumbled across your thread, it's kind of funny I have the same bumper coming, should be here Thursday, and I will be ordering the same cage from rcmodelex, well the one for a d90 anyway. Also on the list are the ARB diff covers .. I'll probably go with the black ones tho. You mentioned a rear bumper. I picked up the rc4wd swing away rear bumper and so far I really dig it... it looks cool and gets that tire off the body... yeah the buddy I traded was aware they don't ship with any grease so he had already opened both axles, transmission and transfer case and gave them a good greasing.. Anyway cool build interested in seeing where the build up goes.

Hi ryan

Rcmodelex roof rack is ok
But now im kind of worried about it
I plan on getting that back bumper swing away
I think the ladder for the roof rack will be on the way

Take a look here

I think the spare tire will touch that ladder

Ill be getting the same back bumper like yours sometime next week
And a rc4wd winch maybe
This is a slow build

I also am a little worried about the fitment with the tire carrier and the ladder, but I think it will just clear.... I can take a picture tonight and post it up maybe we can determine if there will be any interference issues..

You should have clearance, because the ladder on the RC4WD roof rack pushes towards the center more and no one has had issues with the swing arm carrier and the roof rack used in conjunction as far as I know.

This is a slow build

Lol talk about a slow build. Mine is supposed to be a Ram 3500 with 1.7" rims by now and it's currently a jeep with 1.9"s lol

Your build is crazy fast for me, but of course my age has an impact on my income, which is most of why my build is going so slow  I hate being a kid.....

Lol
Dont be in a hurry to grow up i said
Youll be wishing youre young again when your old lol

The roof rack is not rc4wd its from rcmodelex
That is why im worried
Next time i know better not to mixed parts from other companies
The only reason why i went with rcmodelex
Was that rc4wd didnt have the roofrack in stock at that time
I should of waited

Ey that would be great
Ill post some measurements too of the ladder

Lol no I'm in a hurry. Being grown up sounds so damn fun. Cos like....money n sheit. Lmao idk

And I know it's a different brand, but the RC4WD ladders on the back of their adventure rack go further into the center of the rear panels on the 110. That means that you'll clear because (just from eyeballing it, no real measurements were made) it looks like the ladders on the RC4WD rack go closer to the center of the body by about 1/4" on each side.

I also don't understand why every adult I talk to complains about being just that- and adult.

Yeah there's some large responsibilities blah blah blah. But you get to live in your own house (only downside is bills, which shouldn't be an issue), you get to make your own rules (no downside, because you have ice cream for breakfast and pancakes and waffles for dinner and no one would yell at you), you get to have a job, all this other crap.

So much better than being 15 years old....

Lol

You forget to mentioned
All kinds of sickness as you get older
Paying rents
Paying cars
Insurance and among other things
By then you wont have enough for toys
Not to mentioned no time to play
And it get worse if your married with kids :D

So I'm kinda pissed. I just spend like 10 minutes thinking about why being an adult is better, and Safari had to frickin crash -___-

Short and sweet-

I'm gunna take care of my body. I'm not gunna get fat, do drugs, smoke, I'm gunna work out as much as I can and eat healthy.

Paying rent and insurance isn't an issue, for rent if I get an apartment it wont be crazy expensive, and for car insurance I will get liability only because I'm not letting just anybody drive my 97' RX-7 with a 20.B with twin turbo. Not happening. No way. (My dream ride FYI)

I want to get a job on the R/D team at Axial, Losi, or Traxxas. Maybe the HR department too. If I get the job, I literally won't not have time for playing.:lmao:

As for getting married and having kids, I'm not terribly concerned with getting a wife, or even a girlfriend, right now. I honestly don't have the money to support both a scx10 AND a girlfriend lololol

And if I ever do get there, I'll get my kids and wife into the hobby. Most kids love the hobby grade cars if they are introduced to them at a young age.

Start 'em young!

If I don't get anything at any of these companies, I will work as a 1:1 mechanic. I can already replace an engine block, transmission, I can pretty much replace transfer cases but never tried, and I still need to work on being able to uninstall axles and I could basically build a pretty decent 1:1 trail rig. Along with all of this, I can even replace some unusual parts (such as check/replace the headlight fluid) :flipoff:

Uhh so you can work on engines eh
Thats nothing though i can build a whole toyota truck and rebuild it too
My old tf2 heheheh just kidding lol

Hahahahahahah you can rebuild a Toyota. "Toy"ota as I call them.

I can rebuild a pretty decently built '96 Jeep Wrangler 2 door, with stock axles (I still cringe at that Dana 35 to this day), 4" Skyjacker Lift kit, and 35" Trail Grapplers on (I think) Mickey Thompson beadlock tires. Pretty decent for a girl in her early years. She doesn't wheel though, which is sad. I might buy it from her once she "upgrades" to a newer jeep or a fawkin Prius lol

"CLK dating car" LOL!!! Is that the 2009 550?

EDIT- I meant 500 lol

I would think the CLK GTR would be much more fun. Don't get me wrong, the SUT is a fun truck, but the damn thing uses up gas like it's nothing!

If you ever have $600,000 to spend, hit up Merc and get a CLK GTR. I think the 500 is the best one for the money. Get it in red with golden 15 spoke wheels. Then that'll be your dating car, and the CLK 550 will be the just-for-fun car. The damn GTR has a V12 and goes faster than 500KM/H which is about 310MPH.

I love how my signature directly relates to the conversation :lmao:

I'm sure you can confirm that, go sit in your car and think about dead puppies and Chernobyl (the first 2 things that came in my head, I'm obviously not mentally stable ahahaha)

Thanks for posting those measurements "thumbsup" I got a second to take a few pictures and after looking what you posted and my pictures I'm thinking there is going to be some interference. But reviewing your pictures some more I Think I can modify the ladder to work. Looks like the ladder sticks out 3/4 of an inch I'm going to cut the upper and lower mounts off the ladder legs shorten the legs and braze the mounts back onto the shorter legs. "thumbsup" In my head its gonna work great.. guess I'll see when I get one headed my way. Just noticed they dropped the combo price down ten dollars .. Guess I better jump on one soon

IMO the RCModelEX Roof Rack/Cage looks better than any of the other manufactures offerings. I like how the rack is only towards the rear and the front follows the roof line AKA Style all the others look to "Blocky" to me . 8)

Here's The pictures I got for ya

By looking at your picture
The problem is the locking mechanism of the tire rack
That latched is lined up exactly with one of the legs of that ladder

You have a different rear bumper

This is what im thinking of getting
So i can have a gas can also
