Rock Lights

I did something different and cut up some plastic to put some LED light strips from eBay on the inside of my body

Wired to a separate small 3s on the chassis

Alright....so I finally rounded the rock lights out with some of the Vaterra LED light bars under the rocker panels. I don't believe there will be any worry of rock damage because I've yet to get a scratch close to where the lights mount, plus they are tucked completely against the frame rail so they should be good.

Here's the pics

If you look closely you'll see I already had the previously mentioned lights in the wheel wells...

And I added the old decals back on temporarily until I can get a can of plastidip to coat the body with so it'll be more scratch/ding resistant, then I'll put the new decals Axial sent me on the truck. So the windows are left with the masking on for now...

Also...just so it's documented, I am running the stock electronics and a 6-cell NiMH 3000mah Onyx battery. Plenty of voltage for these lights and they don't dim under throttle.

Has anyone else used the Vaterra Light Bar LEDs? I drove it once and a light already went out and not due to any sort of impact either...

sorry I'm abit off topic, but do you have anymore photos of the bed trimmed to fit the cage on the back of your power wagon? I've always wanted to try this out and keep my scalerfab rear bumper on and see how it looks but I keep having a bad feeling about chopping up my pickup bed but seeing yours looking so good I'd realy like to try!.8)

I've been running them in 2s for about 3 weeks now with no problem other than the sticky tape wearing off. Now attached with ultra grey.

I just cut the inner bed out along the line around the top...then cut out the front of the bed to allow it to fit only far enough in to put screws through it. My problem is because the bed of the flatbed is lower than the top of the original bed, I mounted it flush against the flatbed and cut an inch off the bottom. Well, then the bumper really was being dragged across rocks. So for now I removed it until I can make my own rear tubing. It also fit very snug from front to back...literally almost spring loaded with the tubing of the flatbed. But it worked...

Here's a good pic of the rear when it was on:

The lights from the link in the first post look like they are from here

tons of possibilities "thumbsup"

I ordered these and received but have not mounted or tested yet.

Which ones did you get?

See above, the ones that you linked. "thumbsup"8)

Thanks for updating with your battery info. "thumbsup"8)
