Rowdys there's no "I" in team Bully 2

:ror:

Should run cooler than my old smashed setup micro sidewinders, seeing as these have heatsinks and I perforated the cases. I just hope the solder holds, whatever castle uses is some tough stuff to melt, even with a solder station cranked full blast.

Scratch the oxidation off the solder with a hobby knife, then put a drop of fresh solder on the tip of the iron, then the old stuff will melt fast.

When it comes to castle solder, I cut it off flush with lead shears and drill a hole for the gauge of wire I am using. Much easier.

Trick to melting the castle solder is the largest tip. Use the biggest tip let it heat up then it melts it without issue. The small tip does not hold enough residual heat.

If I can't use my Hakko soldering station at work, the only thing that I like to solder with is my 150/250 watt gun. I hate to solder with any of the small craptastic 25,40, or even 60 watt irons.

Soldering is no fun if you don't have a good setup.

Make sure you scrape off the thin coat of conformal coating then you can actually heat the solder.

I scraped and I always use a big tip with my soldering station, soldering the power and bec to the existing stuff on the boards was still tougher than most solder I have dealt with, did'nt want to burn the board up either.

Thanks for the tips guys. "thumbsup"

Rowdy do you have a side view out your battery mount? I want to see how low it sits. I need a battery tray slightly higher then the lower links. I'm running a XR10 skid plate and the front lowers are every narrow at the skid. And the skid has to be higher then the lower links.

I will get a pic for you tonight.

Rowdy Racing Bully 2 = R2B2.

Use The Force.

Sometimes the adjustability of aluminum is a good thing. ;-)

Rebuilt the shocks with slightly longer Traxxas shafts, mine were shortened. Got a little bit more GC and articulation now, along with stiffer rear springs (Mrc silvers). Mini t silver springs up front and 70 wt oil all around, with machined pistons and Egressor bodies of course.

Oh and red tinted windows bros. 8)
