Brooks...first off I have nothing to do with the trail class.
If i did it would have been run per the trail class rules...or as close as possible.
The difference between bending the rules for comp crawlers and scalers is obvious...maybe more so if you have a background in comp crawlers. The only reason i said anything was because thurayt was asking if the body would be legal. Ill tell you this...if you come to compete at one of the SCRCC events in 2.2s or 2.2pro i wont run you off because your body isnt quite right. The size, shape, overall look and whatnot really have no bearing on whether or not you can drive your rig. Now if you choose to attend a national qualifier you wont be met with the same open arms...and rightfully so.

Class-2 “Trail” Details:
• Body/cage work must be at least 4.5" tall (including boat sides) and the inside of the front tires cannot extend outside of the width of the cab at the doors.
Class 3
The distance between the inside of the tires (of any axle) can be no greater than 1.25" more than the width of the body at the doors.
*Example* (7" inside-of-tire to inside-of-tire = body must be 5.75" wide)
The body must be at least 5" wide from the front to the rear of the doors.
Tire height can be no more than 0.5" taller than cab height. Height is measured from the bottom of the skid to the top of the bodywork/tube not including a light bar.
*Example*(5.5" tire = 5" tall from bottom of skid to top of cab/tube work)
Body must be at least as long as the wheelbase of the vehicle.

Thurayt is spending all this time on a custom body so he probably wants it to be legal wherever he goes to compete, whether it is here in sc or in California. That's why he asked the question.
We are presenting a very large group now of the scalers.. Ranging from a minimum of 20-40 people plus per comp/event and even some quick g2g's. When someone new comes with a questionable rig or item, we don't run them off in any kind of way! All of us have plenty of spare parts and rigs for backup, even for helping other people out. Simply we would change what is wrong or holding them back so they can run the event. Then by the next comp/event they would know what needed to be changed in order to "qualify for a particular class." I think the common outsider's might get a false reading from what goes on in our discussion's or threads but if you came to one of our events you would understand just how much fun we have.. Tony was being smart by doing research and asking questions on the appropriate thread, isn't that what these are for anyway? Im looking forward to seeing some type of Star Wars C3 rig out of this, maybe a few droid units in the back lol!

Funny I did mention that, I may have a few models you can choose from. I just inherited my cousin's Star Wars collection, but its going up on CL to fund this Honcho build! Are these the droids your looking for lol..?

Id like to propose something, I think the people who are cordinating the event should run first. Every comp wilbywise has put on he has always waited till last to go and i think he and any who have time invested shuld run first as thanks for their hard work. They get first shot at a "dry" course and then that frees them up for coordinating the classes/filming/whatever. Just my 2cents.
