Why do you need that?

I am sorry, but that IFS will never be more capable than a coil sprung, solid axle vehicle.

true, there's this guy that owns PHH rock racing company and he made a IFS
based crawler and he competes
Yeah....Walker Evans also tried it for one event.....then went back.

BTW, the rig on their front page is solid axle front and rear. Is this the one you are referring to:

My wife wants to get an H3 for "her" next vehicle.

The deal is that she can get the Hummer, if when it's time for me to get a new vehicle (I just bought a 06 Chevy Crew so it will be a few years until I get another vehicle) I can get a 4 door Rubi w/ a lift, tires, and wheels!

Come on 08!

LOL! cool! i hope i will still be doing rc then...but uhh i will be a senior then so i might not LOL

AND FOR THE RECORD GUYS

i am a FAN of all off road i just dont care for guys who think their jeep is the **** and nothing else is off road worthy and then they show their truck and i LOL

i didn't know he made that one also, i was talking about the one featured in nov/dec CRAWL magazine;-)

What page? I've got that issue sitting in front of me and dont see an IFS rig in the Rock Racing article...
Ahh....Pg. 78. That looks a lot like what WE tried on his crawling rig a while back.

I still see an inherent downfall with the lack of leverage in an IFS system for a sport that requires the most traction possible. IFS simply relies on gravity. You can see examples in the Maxx forum here....most of those guys lock out the IFS to simulate SA setups.

i think the only off road worthyhummer is the H1 Alpha compared to the rest of the hummers , but for the $150,000 price tag you don't even get solid axles.

And this year was the last for the h1:-( :-( :-( :-( :-( .

i agree that ifs isn't for hardcore crawling , i think it's neat to see another
guy make a rig thats different then the rest
Oh, no doubt! I like seeing creative ideas....I was just responding to the statement that was made earlier in this thread comparing a stock H3 to a solid axled jeep with front and rear air lockers and 4:1 t-case ratio.

when hummer finally puts a duramax in it they decide to stop production,
man i'd hate to see the increased pricetag on a already expensive
hummer
Big bummer

-I have a jeep, my father has a jeep, and about 90 percent of our friends have jeeps, ranging from bone stock to fully coil-overed buggies. Yes jeeps are extremely capable out-of-the-box vehicles, but just because a lot of us have jeeps, doesn't mean we're biased.
-I agree, I don't like people who talk smack about other people's rigs and then they show theirs and it's ridiculous looking. And people who try to get pics off of google and pretend that a sick vehicle is theirs and are flaming somebody for being proud of a brand new rubi, etc, are just losers and need to get out from behind the computer screen and go get a life.
-Some people don't like body damage and have different methods of preventing it. GET OFF THEIR CASE!!!
-Just because people don't have big tires, lockers, big motors, whatever kind flipping of upgrades you can think of, doesnt give anyone the right to jump down the throat of somebody who has a stock rig and wants to wheel it. Wheel what you have and have fun with it. If somebody else doesn't like your rig they can just keep their mouth shut, or put up or shut up!!!!!!!!

great post "thumbsup" thats everything i have been trying to say in my posts minus the jeep stuff...yes, the jeep has heritage (s_p) whereas the hummer has only been around since the late 80's, but i look at it like this:

the hummer has saved many lives of our brothers, cousins, uncles...what ev in iraq and other hostile countrys, so in my eyes its a proven truck.. the average joe who walks up on the chevy lot isnt thinking about the crazy trails hes gunna conquer, sadly he is thinking about what famous rapper or actor has 22' rims he going to pick.....and on the other hand the jeep has a 60+ year heritage from WWII to NAM' and yes its a proven platform but it had a different appeal to the mass market... but IMO (and only MO) the jeep looks the same every new model year, it has only become more "user" friendly, another ex is the porsche 911 bodies...but what i am trying to say with this whole novel is that EVERYONE HAS THEIR ON OPINON AND IN AMERICA THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO IT!...just like krawlin said

so what ever if you have trouble reading this pm me...i will be glad to help you

Funny, haven't seen many (or any) Hummers in the woods here in the Pacific NW, but we do have trees and stumps to navigate around, and mountians to drive up. Lots of Rubicons, though

Yeah, my H3 cant turn- dont even know why they have a steering wheel in it.

I was told the definition of retarded is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result- you say hummers suck; I say they dont; you say they do; I say they don't.. see what I am getting at. I am done with this thread.
