some guys from nj get a hummer h2 in hawaii

Hey,
I totally agree with you on the age of some people that post up comments like that anyway I have to disagree with the comment about h3's being the best out of the box wheeler. Mostly because I have owned two tacoma's and they can perform as well or better than a hummer. I live in colorado and there are not that many stock hummers that can wheel with a toyota now keep in mind alot of this has to do with the driver but I bet that alot of people on the site that wheel 1:1 would have to say that jeeps and toyota trucks can crawl really good without a dought"thumbsup"

I've ridden in a few different 4x4's. Just riding in one I couldn't give an honest "This worked better", but I will say I still prefer the ride of my XJ on a trail.

Its not the best, its not the worst, but its always a good time. Unless you drive every one how can you say what is best?

I have my opinions, but as long as you are out there offroading, you are going to have fun, no matter what you are driving (within reason).

Ok, I wasn't gonna post up here. But.................
IMO I think why most people give Hummers crap is because about 99% of them have big bling rims and rappers or sports/movie stars driving them. I just saw 2 Hummers on my way from Downtown Mpls. Both blinged out, and I'm sure have never seen even a gravel road, like the majority of Hummers. It's just an image for most. For the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would bling out a supposedly offroad vehicle. To me thats like taking a 4x4 and making it a low rider. Silly shait that is.

i also think yes hummers are offroaders and yes they're used as bo-mobiles and blinged up too the roof scoop but they found people use them like that after the h1 and they now sell for the majority of people that want bo mobiles because like freetimecrawler said most of them heven't even seen gravel roads!

so basically al;l i'm saying is there built for the majority but labled for the minority.

And this all started with a vid of a pack of city boys taking their rental "off road". LOL!!!

elactrick lockers. elaectrick disconect sway bars

Uhhh, WHAT?

There's the proper attitude! Right on NorCal!

Props to mr. pink - wheel that thing, dog!
So he wants to keep his paint looking good - what's the big deal about that?

An H2 is basically a 'Burban with a fancy body. Why can't it wheel? Or be modified to wheel even better? I don't see why it could'nt.

I've never really seen an H3, but mr. pink's shots show some promise all right.

If I had all the money to buy/build a 1:1 rig, it would probably end up being an old Jeep or an old FJ. Or I'd put a front axle and transfer case in my F-250 diesel.
For a Hummer, I'd wait until the military starts auctioning off the government issue H1's. When I was doing road work in Dugway Proving Grounds I talked to quite a few soldiers about their H1's. Sat in 4 or 5 different ones (I could'nt talk anyone into letting me take a spin in one - "before 9/11 nobody would have cared" they all told me) According to these guys the military issue H1's are incredibly capable trucks, very difficult to get stuck or turn over.
