Strongest motor plate

Anyone know who makes the thickest, strongest motor plate for the Scorpion? Some brand sites state the thickness and material, others don't. Badly need less flex and more material for all the mounting screws to bite into than what the stock motor plate provides! Thanks very much for any light you can shed on this!!!

VF (Visionary Fabrication) makes a motor thats about an 1/8 thick, pretty stout. TCS carries them in the vendors section. ;-)

If you want to be different, Go to your favorate wal-mart or k-mart and buy a cutting board(many colors to choose from) that measures around 1/4 inch thick. Trace the stock chassis plate to the board. This Idea is really strong. I seen it in action already both in competetion and bashing.

He was asking about the motor mount plate, not the chassis plates.

Good to hear cause the stocker flexes around like a ballerina in tights with an audience....LOL> Makes it hard to keep a good motor piniion mesh.

Gotta say the VF motorplate is pretty damn strong! Also is allows you the option of using not only 540 size motors but also smaller outrunners...thats a bonus

Another option is to run the Hot Racing chassis plate with their motor mount. It has an additional screw that comes up through the bottom chassis plate and threads into the motor plate to eliminate flex.

I have been running this combo in my scorpion with a goat brushless and it works much better than the stock setup.

Don't want to hijack this thread or anything, just wondering, since it appears no one makes a steel plate, is the vf plate made of stiffer aluminum? I've noticed that after awhile the motor screws start digging into the soft aluminum & then it's hard to get a nice gearmesh:x

i have noticed alot of guys dont place a washer under the motor screw. thats the wrong thing todo. a washer spreads the laod out and keeps from digging into the aluminum. GET THE VF MOTOR PLATE!

X2. You could also cut out your own motor mount plate from some thicker higher grade aluminum and then drill and tap the mounting holes that hold it to the tranny.

Some nice motor mount screws with washers.

Steel would be way too heavy and still too high up in the chassis for a motor plate.

Hey gays, I need a stronger motor plate for my ax10. Which one should I get?

I would get any 1/8" motor plate. VF or the EEM one. I am using one that is VERY similar(my own laser cut version) to the EEM's motor plate one and have had NO FLEXING what so ever.
