how do you figure it wouldn't crawl anything an axial could and beat it in competition..and why the hell would you down grade independant suspension for strait axle.....
Exactly! Hmmmm..wonder why the 1:1's aren't using independent suspension on their crawlersIf independent suspension was the way to go dont you think people would be using rigs with it? Independent suspension is not for crawling.
they do..... its a bit more costly thoughExactly! Hmmmm..wonder why the 1:1's aren't using independent suspension on their crawlers![]()
straight axles are cheaper and easier to modify....Exactly! Hmmmm..wonder why the 1:1's aren't using independent suspension on their crawlers![]()
HAHA I remember Walker Evans trying it, with less then stellar results.they do..... tells me you dont really know about the real rigs
Show me pics of 1:1 comp crawlers that use IFS:idea:they do..... tells me you dont really know about the real rigs
You forgot, and they put the power to the ground waaaaay betterstraight axles are cheaper and easier to modify....

I'm gonna do IFS on my next 1:1 build, just so I can prove myself and everybody else wrong:mrgreen:Are you crazy everyone is doing it! Its the coolest!
Walker Evans ran his indy rig for what 10 minutes, thats a long time!
I talked to him about it, he said it was a piece, few months later that thing was gone!"thumbsup"
try out that 775 motor thats in the summit, its a 10 turn but the 775 makes a huge amount of torque with the 70:1 tranny low..They were Axial 40 Series Narrow beadlocks, with RC4WD Rock Crushers, the largest they make, at 8.26" Diameter !
I built it mainly for the tires, lol, they just looked amazing.
The thing flexed great, you would lift one tire 10" off the ground with the other three still on the ground.
I had a titain 750 motor in it I think, with the lowest gearing you can do in an ERevo, and it still wasnt near enough power.
The tires could have been a bit softer also, they just didnt want to hookup, I dont know if it was the Revo doing it, or the tires.
Its also TOO wide, sure its huge, with big tires, but its so wide you can still high center it easier than you would think.

and you pretty much dont have to "make" a course to accomidate the summit, i think this is one of the biggest differences....Yeah, I would have to agree, it will never win a competition. But it shines in other areas that crawler can't, like blasting through a stream.
scalers are definitely cool, driver skill is a must..Summit-comp rig-does not fit in any of the rules.
if people would hear me out, ya gotta add about 6 to 12 oz of wheel weight to the rim and then you can see some good crawling with the summit... it makes a huge difference....... cheap hop up as well.....The point of building a crawler like that is pretty much just to say you have done it. There are a lot easier and cheaper ways of getting a Super-class crawler. The point of making a crawler out of a Revo-based chassis would be to take advantage of the suspension.
jtice, what wheels and tire are those?
super nice dude....Don't forget Shannon Campbell's IFS rig![]()
weight the wheels.... 6 to 12 oz will do it for the summit...They were Axial 40 Series Narrow beadlocks, with RC4WD Rock Crushers, the largest they make, at 8.26" Diameter !

I'm still waiting on video of your Summit:idea: remember, you claimed 65*if people would hear me out, ya gotta add about 6 to 12 oz of wheel weight to the rim and then you can see some good crawling with the summit... it makes a huge difference....... cheap hop up as well.....

:ror: Ya, I'm clueless about 1:1 rigs :ror:
You forgot, and they put the power to the ground waaaaay better![]()
