The Holmes Puller Pro BL 540XL 3500kv the YETI Grail?

when are the Holmes Hobbies Holmes Puller Pro BL 540XL 3500kv in stock again? the axial motor runs but very bad need replacement soon I think:sad:

I just got my kit put together this week and installed the 2100kv version of the XL with a 20T pinion. I'm fairly new to RC so my opinion may not be accurate but it seems to have plenty of power and speed. It easily pulls the front right tire off of the ground on launch and if I launch while rolling ever so slowly backward it pulls both front wheels off the ground. Ran it for 15 minutes and felt the motor and it was barely warm.

There may be reasons I unaware of as to why this isn't as desirable, just thought I'd mention it.

I'm looking into this setup but I'm looking for speed and want to stick with 3s batts. Is there a way you could clock your speed?

The 3500XL won't be in stock too soon. Some factory excuses about magnets. In the mean time, a standard 540 Puller has no problem pushing the Yeti around. It's like a pro4hd in class, so no slouch in the power department.

After spending much time with the XL and the standard, I have to agree.... In fact I prefer the standard.... I run them both 4s and they both have been an absolute pleasure to own/ run/ race. The latest castle firmware update dramatically improved the startup in the XL.

Is there any way to order the standard with a 5mm shaft? For me this would be the perfect "do everything motor".

Any insight as to when I can get my hands on 3 spools? cant find them anywhere.

So I need to replace the HW SCT Pro in my Yeti because it belongs in another project and I want water proof in the Yeti I'm looking at the new MambaX and a standard 540 Puller. Would this more or less perform about the same as the SCT Pro on 2s with occasional 3s use?

Any chance you could post a video showing how each performs?

Sorry for the delay, I finally got a little time with the Yeti this afternoon. Looks like its doing 22mph with a 20T and the 2100kv. I might install the 22T and see what it does. I don't have an IR thermometer yet so I need to make sure I'm not getting high temps before I get too carried away.

Just got new Mamba X and puller pro standard 3500kv installed ran it on 2s yesterday felt slow so went and picked up a 3s today performs better than expected tempature on motor was 130 Esc 103.

Would love to see a video of this combo in action

After messing around w/ the Bomber for a bit, I'm missing my old Yeti, so I repurchased another kit and now I'm looking for a motor combo to stick in the Yeti for some good speed while bashing, along w/ a little control for some light rock climbing w/ my boy and his Wraith. I have the Trailmaster Brushless in my Bomber and obviously that's not the answer for the Yeti, so I hear the regular 540 3500kv is good for the Yeti, but I'm having trouble deciding between the Mamba Max and the Trailmaster BLE. Why would one select the Mamba? I've got the BLE in my Bomber and it's been a hell of a combo.

I have been running the Mamba X 1/10 with puller pro standard 3500 in performs better than I expected fast enough to bash it will do back flips on 3s.

We will have regular 3500 kv XL in stock today, and waterproofed after a few days.

For a rock racer, the MMP or MMX is good because of the fan. The BLE does have better low speed control though, so if your aren't actually racing it will be easier to control on the rocks.

Interesting. So I purchased the standard 3500kv and I've already got a BLE Pro that I took out of my Bomber, so if I'm just bashing on 3S and occasionally doing some slower trail and rock climbing, I'll probably be ok w/ the BLE? I def don't want to fry it, so if it's not intended for that, I'll get the MMP/X and use it elsewhere.

Dang just bought a standard last week.

Most people prefer the drive of the standard, no regrets.

Not gonna fry it. If you aren't racing for trophies, the BLE is well suited. Under race stress they want a fan to prevent fade towards the end.

Perfect, thanks. I've been a fan of the HH gear I've tried so far, so keeping the motor w/ the BLE Pro was ideal. Thanks for the info...and can't wait to see more of the Holmes house on Youtube. :)
