The Holmes Puller Pro BL 540XL 3500kv the YETI Grail?

Hey John I have a question..
I have a custom built 2WD trophy truck that will be around max 15lbs but most likely 12-13. I bought a Mamba Monster X ESC and was considering going with the 540 XL 3500kv. Have one in my Yeti and love it. I was wondering what your recommendation would be. I'm definitely going Holmes Hobbies but not sure if I should try a lower KV on 4S or stick with 3S on a 3500kv.

Any chance you could post a video showing how each performs?

I don't have a video of a side by side comparison... Here is 2 video's of the PP 3500XL. this is stock yeti gearing and transmission... I was filming from my jacket pocket, with my cell phone, I couldn't see what I was filming but hopefully this will give you an Idea of the XL.

Hey John, Sent over a couple emails through your site, I haven't gotten a response... Basically long story short I lost a rear Bearing in my XL durning a U4 race, I replaced the bearing with one I had on hand. Won the qualifier, then in the main the motor locked and took the ESC with it... Upon inspection the armature wrap/ magnets cracked. Is this something I can buy parts for or send in for repair??

I do want to mention that the motor has been unbelievable, I absolutely love it. Hate to see it hit the trash. Either way I'll be buying another as soon as it becomes available. I did jump the gun and grabbed a couple HW's as I though it was going to be a while before they came back in stock...

We will have regular 3500 kv XL in stock today, and waterproofed after a few days.

For a rock racer, the MMP or MMX is good because of the fan. The BLE does have better low speed control though, so if your aren't actually racing it will be easier to control on the rocks.
Is it possible to get bullet connections on the motor to work with the MMX? (6.5" i believe) I didnt see an option for it on the website.

If you purchase it as a combo on my site with the MMX there is an option for us to install large bullets. Otherwise you may have to contact customer service directly for custom work.

Ordered a new 3500xl this am!! Thanks to the team at Holmes Hobbies! Your companies customer service reputation proceeds you! I went from an extremely satisfied customer to completely overjoy'd customer!!!

Agreed! I had a last minute addition to my order and they made it happen no problem! Thanks Erin! "thumbsup"

Has anyone figured out how to reverse the motor when using the BLE Pro? My new Yeti build is running backwards and I can't change the remote/receiver to run it the right way. Figured I just had my diffs in backwards so swapped those around and now it just runs rough as hell. So clearly I need to be able to change it in the ESC. If I change the transmitter it runs the proper way but it thinks it's going backwards. Anyone have any experience w this?

All you need to do is swap the A and C motor leads at the esc. This will reverse the rotation of the motor. Leave B where it is. Good luck.

Does that even work w/ the sensored Puller Pro? I know you used to be able to do that w/ the old motors, but in the manual it specifically says to keep the leads connected properly.

Use your TX to reverse it

Hang up and Drive

I wish it were that easy. When I switch it on my Tx it works, kind of. However, it means that the double press to reverse is backwards. If you get what I'm saying. The ESC thinks it's going backwards when it's really going forward.

AND, figured it out. Hooked it up to the computer via USB and updated it to reverse the motor w/ Castle Link. Should have thought of that before! Couldn't do it with the programming card, but could w/ the PC software.

Thanks guys!

Use Castle link. Looks like you figured that out.

This will burn up a motor and typically the ESC too. Sensored motors can't be rewired like this. Do it and regrets will quickly follow.

Yes. My apologies. I wrote that before I realized that he was dealing with a sensored motor. Thanks for catching my screw up guys.

Now a new issue. The brake doesn't seem like it's working when the sensor wire is hooked up. Works fine in non sensored mode. If the sensor is hooked up it basically grinds and then releases completely. Another thing to note is drag brake works fine as well. So weird. Tried all different options and nothing works.

be sure ABC is hooked to ABC. That is almost always the issue when sensored doesn't work right but sensorless does. Also be sure the sensor wire is well seated in the ESC and motor, and if you have a spare wire give that a shot.
