The "Just shut up and build it" thread...

I just started building my JEC trailing arms and links and unfortunately the Vanquish RPM rod ends don't for tbr frenched holes...

I need to order traxxas Revo rod ends. Anyone known if these fit the axial skid without slop?
Or maybe I can swap to axial brass balls from the RPM rods?

Axial-width SS pivot ball is too wide for my SS JEC arms. Regular Revo balls work. On the skid end, use Axial width balls. Amain has the SS balls from Samix.

Good info about RPM ends not fitting. I was planning on replacing with them.

Thanks for the idea, though - my JEC Racing SS trailing arms are IMHO the best thing out there, might get some of his identical 7075 aluminum ones to save weight this time around -but he's got to get around to making them again.

Stainless steel and 7075 aluminum are very hard and slide over rocks extremely well.

They have the rod-ends frenched to protect them, best design out there.

SSD has the same idea, but are softer 6061-T6 aluminum and the set-screws are M3 instead of the stronger M4.

I would LOVE for them to slightly re-design theirs, even with the softer aluminum... at least they are in regular production!

JEC Racing arms (sometimes available from Super Shafty, as well - that's where I got mine):

Love my JEC arms, too. I'm wanting another shorter set (Twin Hammers length) for my rebuild.

You mean a traxxas ball end for the shock lower end that goes into the arms right?

Because both ends of the trailing arms go into axial width supports (skid and link mount).

I will use Revo rod ends on the non-frenched links and the traxxas on everything else.

I had to sand down my Gmade XD shock ball ends for the stock axial trailing arms, I might have to look at other options if the JEC arms are narrower...

Shoot, my bad. I was referring to the ball in the shock end. To clarify, the Traxxas Revo end balls are too narrow for Axial link locations. I got some stainless Samix balls that are Axial-width from AMain.

I'm running Gmade XD shocks and the red alloy shock ball-ends fit just fine in the JEC arms, and I used Hot Racing alloy link mounts on my axles.

I installed washers to take up slop at the Traxxas balls at the skid, and wherever else things were loose....

Can you remove the traxxas ball and put in a VP RPM brass ball since it's axial width?

Yeah...I have a bunch of Traxxas balls that will only be used on my rear shock ends or front steering links. Basically anywhere not Axial-spec double shear. I just pop in the Samix stainless balls when installing on any of my link ends.

Looks legit. After you mentioned them earlier in the thread, I decided to look around for them. I've been messaging the guy regarding my next set. Are you staying stock lengrh? I emailed Carter Fab to see if I can get them to make some shorter trailing arms like the Bomber ones they were making.

Report back on these after installation (when it finally happens "thumbsup").

Yeah, stock length for these...

I have been wanting some Carter Fab steel trailing arms, but he's been out of stock for what seems like 2 years!

I'll take stock length, if you hear back... ;-)

Was out last weekend at the San Marcos Texas river bed. Ran a full 4300mAh 3S pack though my Revolver-powered beast:

Yep, 1800kv v1 Revolver - since it currently has a Holmes SHV500 v1 direct-power servo I am just running 3S, but in the past I ran 4S as well with a ProModeler PM470 servo.

I have a v2 SHV500 servo that will likely go in this soon - then I will be able to return to running 4S packs when I feel the urge, although 3S is surprisingly powerful.
