The unofficial official axial portal buggy.

Hope machined portal gears are in the future! Good news is it didn't crack through to the square ID. Front tire went down into a pocket in the rocks and trying to power out of it I heard a 'pop'. Other crawlers (not Capras) hitting the same line and pocket made it out, so was surprised at this.

Try calling Axial. I called about a snapped housing and they had a new one to me in 4 days. Might be worth a shot.

I'm in agreement with punkindrublik...contact Horizon Hobby customer support. My kit was missing the two small plastic pieces that attach to the underside of the hood, to hold the hood closed. They not only immediately shipped me replacements...but, since those parts aren't yet available on their own (even internally), they shipped me an entire 'Complete Cage Set'. I also have there's TLR kits, each of which has had a problem out-of-the-box, and, in each instance, they've immediately shipped the necessary replacement part. Horizon Hobby had outstanding CS, which is part of the reason I continue to purchase vehicle from Horizon Hobby brands.

I pulled the trigger on one earlier. Hopefully it's not a piece of shit. I like the 20T Crawlmaster Sport I have in mine, but I want to go brushless and I'll need the smaller pinion gear to bring down the wheel speed.

It won't be from what I hear.

I went with an 11t pinion and a Puller Pro Stubby 2200kv. All I do is crawl and it creeps great. I do wish I had a bit more drag though.

I've got one on the way, as well. While the stock case only goes down to 10T, this case (from what I understand) goes down to 9T.

Oops...my bad...I meant 11T, not 10T. I've corrected it. As for the 11T, the mesh is perfect. I held the motor tight against the closer side, then tightened the screws.

They use the Nitto Grapplers and a Raceline plastic beadlock.

I'm surprised they actually hooked up the dig. I remember Gmade didn't include dig with their Gom likely to avoid trouble because its difficult to dial in just right.

I know the kit is really the one to get but for those who want it easy here you go.

The specs look pretty good, especially considering the price. The one "question" I have is the servo. All searches for "Spektrum S614" have turned up 'it does not exist' results.

Considering it's a tiny bit stronger than most RTR servos at 201oz-in, they probably just released it for this vehicle to ward off all the complaints of near-instant servo failure on RTR electronics.

Previous Axial RTR servos were about 150oz-in - so this one might last twice as long... if you're gentle with it.

I know the weight isn't listed...but, f anyone is interested, and if I remember correctly, I believe Arthur said they'd be approx 100g.

Sweet. Says 85g each, or about 6oz total for the pair. I'll hold out a little longer and see if something closer to 10oz comes out, but at that price point the Vitavon parts will be hard to beat. Some threaded holes and a couple add on rings might do the trick.

Just ordered them. Can post actual weight once received.
