The unofficial official axial portal buggy.

Anybody tried Losi Nightcrawler axles on the Capra? Maybe a good fit with the high geared transmission to Nightcrawlers low geared axles?

I haven't, but I did run the Capra and Nightcrawler back to back a few days ago, there are so many similarities it's uncanny. Link geometry and wheelbase are nearly (exactly?) identical so I'd wager that the worms would be a direct bolt in affair if you were inclined to do so. I guess I should have paid closer attention to the differences in skids, the Capra trans might be an easier (based on parts availability) way to add dig to an old nightcrawler. They drove much more similar than I would have thought too, but the Nightcrawler has a handful of mods on it. I bet stock vs stock they'd be close, the Capra might even have the advantage then just due to weight bias and COG.

Interesting, Tnx for the reply.

Just curious, but has anyone come out with, or is working on, portal weights for the Capra?

Krazed Builds and High Altitude Performance from RCC here are developing some.

Yes there are 2 options being worked on now. When they are released you'll know about it.

Cool beans. We need them. I tried the Vanquish wheel weights...and discovered that, unless I went with really wide hubs (seriously widening the Capra's stance), I couldn't use them. Instead of returning them, I'm going to hold onto them, for use on my 2nd (VS4-10 Pro), or 3rd (undecided) crawler.

The portals will fit any wheel, they replace the plastic covers and weight roughly 27g each.
The hangers will fit 2 of the popular comp style wheels, Dlux Loaded Dice and Barrys RC Carbon Rock Magnets.

I dont have any 1.9's drawn yet but they are on the to do list.

Nailing down material, machine and sell prices for them.

Sorry about the horizontal pics, theyre all from my cell phone.

High angle already makes them for his portals.

The capra tubes are large enough to be drilled and sleeved with 3/8 aluminum tubing so they can be adapted to lots of centers.
HAP? Capra chubs are the same dimensions as ar60?

No ... (if Im thinking what youre thinking)

Besides gaining some clearance by swapping axle ends out, the Capra C-hub is actually a stronger design and better for scrub IMO.

What im thinking is the available shafts for the capra could cut cost and time for adding portals to a ssdlux style axle. Hence why i asked if somebody was making chubs with ar60 splines.

Ohhhh ya not what I was thinking.

Having a problem, and hoping to get some assistance. With the Capra being my first crawler, I'm also completely unfamiliar with transmitter settings for getting a DIG operational...everything else is functioning correctly, just not the DIG.

I'm using a Futaba 7PX. There's info in these threads related to the 4PV, which had controls (ie. switches) almost identical to the 7PX, but the menu system is entirely different.

In manually "playing around" work the DIG level, I can tell that it should be possible to set up a 3-position configuration, even though Axial's marketing is advertising it as a 2-position. What I was thinking is that one switch (such as PS1), with the 'Type' set to "Nor." (ie. like "on/off"), could operates the DIG arm for 4WD & FWD w/ locked rear. Then another switch (such as PS2), set as "Condition 1", could have the 'Type' set to "Alt." (ie. only activated when pressed down), which would move the DIG level to a preset 'mid' position for FWD w/ rear freewheeling. When PS1s pressed, it wouldn't matter if PS2 was 'on', or 'off', as the PS1 "Condition 1" would override the PS2 setting.

The problem is, I don't know how to set any of this up...as a 3-position DIG configuration, or as a 2-position. I've tried everything I can think of, as DIGs aren't exactly covered in the manual. I've tried calling Futaba, but the person I spoke with was unfamiliar with DIGs, and said he'd need to reach out to another tech who understands DIG settings...but that tech is on vacation.

So, can anyone help, please? A 3-position config would be fantastic (even knowing it would take two separate switched to operate), but, right now, I can't even figure out how to set up a 2-position. How to I set up things on a 7PX? Again, help...please?
