Traxxas TRX-4 KIT Bronco

Axial is dead to me now!

I think its funny that Axial has had the 10.2 out for what...a year and a half and it has been pretty stale with no new bodies (have they even released the 2 speed conversion kit yet?) and Traxxas pops out multiple bodies and colors within a few months.

**Yes I know Axial is supposed to be coming out with a few new bodies in a few weeks, but a JK and a Deadbolt aren't really anything to get excited about since they already have those bodies for the SCX10. The K5 could be interesting though.

Just saw pics today, and the jk body is much better looking than the original, not to mention all of the scale details.

A Jeep. AGAIN??? Windshield wipers, door handles and led lights? I am a huge Axial fan, but seriously? That's the future upgrade? Hmm, the only thing I see that I like, are the sliders - they hold the lexan body down. Finally it sits properly on top of the chassis. Until you replace it with a proper body.... LOL

The bumper is different, you have to give Axial credit for that... "thumbsup"

I think Axial is running off of customer loyalty, which I think will be its downfall if they don't up their game in a serious way. There are too many companies out there producing like/better products for a cheaper price, then you have Traxxas taking the scale market into the next level. The question is, where can Axial go from here (besides a new and improved JK body)?

True, but they still added some nice features. Would have been nice to see these on the 1st gen.

so now the question is...

who is going to make us some interiors for this traxxas 79 bronco body?
cuz it would sure be awesome to see these with the top removed, revealing a full floor interior from dash to tailgate! (that could be cut in half and also used in the proline 79 truck cab!)

we need a drooling emoji face thingy... 8O:::..:....

Where and when can I get a couple of these bodies? I think this is the most scale looking lexan body, I've seen, except the Tamiya Bronco.

If I am seeing it correctly, the body is even more detailed than the Tamiya. I could be wrong, but It looks asif the chrome stripe along the body, is a separate, chromed plastic piece, not just a sticker. I also lóve the lifted variation. (in my far away youth, we called that combi of fat tires and lift kits “puppies” They really were a thing where I lived ) I wish Tamiya would come with something like that. I’d even accept a tuned version of their High Lift series. The closest I ever came to that look was with Wild Willy wheels and tires on the Hilux highlift. This Bronco? It’s perfection! Exáctly what I’m after.

All in all, Traxxas just “threw a club in the chicken-pen” (a rough translation of a Dutch proverb “een knuppel in het hoenderhok gooien” ) meaning they shook the settled brands awake. Axial needs to up the ante. Their bodies have become more & more bland with ever less detailing. Sometimes not even taking the trouble of including small stuff like mirrors and such. ( lacking mirrors on a body, are a pet-peeve of mine  )

Other manufacturers are anything but sitting on their thumbs. And now the marketing-moloch Traxxas has joined the crawling fray.

Well, untill 2018, I’ll make-do with a MST-MFX and a Tamiya bronco body. Now to find a way to get that sunset strip paintjob..

That body looks like shit. I don't know why people are crazy for it. Most people that are bragging it up are Axial Kool-Aid drinking brand whores. Sure, they gave it scale details, but they took away the important details like the interior and roll cage.

I can see your point. I still wouldn’t buy another axial rtr anyway.

I hope it wakes up the others.... I REFUSE to pay almost $500.00 for the Traxxas Rig, plus other things that I'd want/need!!
I may want that Body though, if it actually looks close to the picture. I'm just glad that the windows aren't BLACKED OUT, like on their first monster.
I realize that many people like it, but basically, all Traxxas is actually doing - is RAISING the Market price on the rest of the products we buy!! They did that with the Slash, 10 years ago.

WTF are you talking about? ITS MAKING THE OTHER TRUCKS CHEAPER. Axial dropped the price on the RTR XJ $20 and the new JK is $409. It probably would have been more had the TRX-4 not been out.

Lets see...I'm at the hobby shop and I can get a truck with portal axles, aluminum links, quality shocks and rod ends, a two speed, and unlocking diffs for $420, or I can get an SCX10.2 with ugly thin steel links, leaky plastic shocks, and LEDs for $410. HMMMM.... Which one is the better deal?

Don't get me wrong, I like my 10.2s, but dollar for dollar you get more with the TRX-4.
