just was wondering if anyone has used the venom creeper shocks on their rigs for mounting to the axles? I know they are long enough to do this was just wanting some feedback! Also the same deal with the links i know that some has done this as well but want the same here..feedback!! Im running factory bent links now and 1/2 droop-1/2 sprung with factory shocks!!!..but thanks to this forum i have just finished up my bta steering and love it!!! So thanks to all that has givin helpful and informative feedback"thumbsup"

Personally, I wouldn't buy a set of plastic shocks just because they were longer, I would shell out a little extra cash and get a nice set of aluminum shocks. As for the links, I've always been a fan of making my own, it's cheaper that way.

well the the shocks i have are the upgraded all aluminum shocks!! just wanted to see if anyone has them and are using them!! Im game for makin your own parts going to try my hand at my own chassis..i just love the looks of the venom links and i got them dirt cheap!! so why not:)...but thanks for the reply jsowens!!

venom parts

I own a creeper and i would say the shocks are not any better than what came with the rs10 in the first place. I have used venom top and bottom links, venom rims and locks, I replaced all the ends of the links though as they are all bent at angles for the creeper. I used some large venom shocks and mounted them to the axel, when i find the link for the shocks i used i will post it

thanks cguit!!! good info..but the venom shocks i have must be a new thing or something cause they are threaded body alumnium shocks and the rs10 are plastic:roll:...but i found some pics of santa cruz jeff( i think) and he was running the venom links on the rs10 but he has moved on to delrin ones now..i will get some pics of these shocks up asap!!! they came with two sets of springs (red and blue)no oil...but thanks man for the info and just love the whole thing of tweakin the truck!!!!

I know this is an older thread. Gotta love the search button...

Anyway, just wondering if you used these shocks. I'm seeing them on eBay for $20 for a set of four. Was thinking of picking some up for the axle mounted shock look. Then I noticed the length: 134.25mm (5.29")

Here's the eBay link:
Venom Threaded Aluminum Shocks AX10 Scorpion 4PC | eBay

Just wondering how they worked out, and if they heald up well.

Thanks!

shocks

those are the shocks im using right now actually, they are not that great, You should spend your money on a full aluminum shocks. The length is good though, they go from frame to axel with ease. You will have to find spacers for the mounts though as they will rub on the wires for the motor.

Hey thanks for that. I think these are all aluminum as the OP stated, or am I mistaken? The listing leads me to believe at they are, but you knw how listings can be... "thumbsup"

shocks

they are aluminum capped but the shock itself is plastic and the top is plastic threaded. They dont hold up that well actually crawling on rocks, they do look cool though.
