OK I've been trawling around the forums for an hour now and can't find what I'm looking for.
Can anyone tell where the link is for the guy who replaced the outer bead lock and used large steel washers as weights.... great idea!

Cheers

Great thread, but not the one I've seen before. That one is for creating bead locks not wheel weights......
I've got an AX10 that I want to add weight to the wheels, I think you might call the 'Rock rims' ?

Any other suggestions?????

Couldn't you have just took one of your beadlock rings to the hardware store, matched it up to a washer and driven back home in that hour? ;)

I'd be curious as to how much weight you could add.

I only have 3.75oz in each wheel as I like the way it climbs with the lighter weight.

You could add 2 washers on the backside and one on the front for a little more weight.

-OR-

Maybe use the washers with the stock beadlocks on the outside of it for better looks.

If anyone gets these washers, please weigh them...maybe there's a scale at the hardware store you could do it on!

That's the one!!!!

I even found the washers today in the DIY store, the Axial rings are 62mm (sorry of the metric bit guys)(converts to around 2.44") and the washers are 60mm (2.36") so their 1mm smaller. They weight in just under 2oz each not a lot I know but it will reduce the amount of lead needed in the rims.
The other reason I wanted to try this idea is that the rocks I crawler in are jagged and often get caught in the inside of the Axial rings.

I'll see how I go, just wanted to experiment..... and unfortunately my nearest hobby store is an hours drive away.... Long live ebay"thumbsup"

Cheers for your help!!

In his write up, he states that the washers are bigger diameter than the Axial rings...I'd probably look for some different washers.
