Waterproofing electronics with liquid electrical tape

I bought some liquid electrical tape to seal my servos but was wondering if I can coat my ESC with the stuff (not the transistors). I figure it would be a good way to waterproof them. Anyone else done this?

I tried and I didn't like the seal. It probably works, but I prefer using silicone. It is MUCH easier to clean up if you have to get back in to the balloons (assuming that method of sealing).

I wasn't waterproofing the box. I'm talking about coating the pcb with the stuff. I just brushed the bottom of my EVX with the stuff. I'm waterproofing the board itself so we'll see how it turns out. Hopefully it's a dialectric as well haha.

Dielectric grease, that is how thaclodking uses his Yota as an anchor...

Just pack it in all your electronics.

Haha well we'll see how the esc turns out. Im in the process of doing the receiver in it as well.

Gave it a try now that everything dried. I put 3 layers on everything, let it dry, then went for a run or two. It works just fine. hardest part was the r300 esc (jr synthesized rx) because it's a double-deck pcb. I ended up just drowning it in the stuff. I then put a peice of "Industrial Duck Tape" over the channel selectors, put the case back together, then put another peice over the top. Just incase anyone else thought about trying it, it's easier than potting them and is removable (very easily on the evx, incrediably hard on the rx300). I bought mine at Advanced Auto for $4.39 a can. Try to do it outside or with adequate ventillation because MEK is not good stuff.
