What did you do to/with your Ascender today

I got a chance to stare at mine last night while starting my wood stove. I'm thinking about hinging the body and interior. It takes a lot of staring to figure that out

I love just staring at my RCs and figuring out how to change things around. Take a look at my Honcho build thread, I did the rear hinged body setup a couple different ways. "thumbsup"

Now you've got my brain spinning. With my rear posts fixed to the cage, and the cage attached to the body, I could mount the rod ends I use to hold the body posts to the chassis off the frame and hinge the whole thing back on those rod ends. Like I said.. spinning brain. I just need it to get slow at work now..

Good! :) That sounds like a great idea, do it and post up pics etc.! :) Somebody here already using the end linnks for rear cage mounts, but iirc not setup to pivot like you want.

That sparks an idea. I had not considered that. My roll cage tube goes thru the rear part of my rear fenders. I could easily put rod ends on it. My staring was contemplating a piano hinge across the back. That would help stiffen the interior floor and the rear of the body. Jury is still out.

Wow. "thumbsup"I knowmwhat I'm doing tonight. I ordered rear link risers from #DoubleDDzRC 8). Ordered them Monday and got them today. Flaming fast shipping,. THANKS TODD KNOPP. :ror:
I will get them on tonight. Also ordered RC4WD ARB aluminum diff covers. Can't wait to run my new Ascender Bronco Saturday at a place we call Goat Hill. Really like this rig."thumbsup"

Awesome thought. I have been staring at mine for a while, trying to figure out how to do the same thing, and this never crossed my mind. Care if I steal your idea?

Yeah by all means. I never finalized the idea but found that the bumper brackets coming off the frame is where I would need to pivot on the K5 setup. Good luck and post your results!

So I felt like I had been giving too much attention to the new Ascender recently, so I decided to treat my original Ascender kit to a set of CODYBOY axles too. Good timing cause the grease in the original axles was getting pretty gnarly.

Cheapest way to increase battery tray :)

Use screws from shocks and cut one side of battery tray.

Drove the thing finally with my New set up. I'll have more details in my thread but did very well.

Finally got it back out to show it some love. Swapped tires out. Now I am running the Proline 1.9 KR2s with Proline 2 stage foams. Gotta say that these are my new favorite tires. Had been running the Hyrax for a while. They worked alright, but if the got wet at all, they turned pretty slick. These KR2s just keep on grabbing. No matter what kind of surface, wet, muddy, it didn't matter. Super impressed with them. Plus, I like the looks too. Also installed a set of Traxxas Ultra shocks too. Just added some 20w oil to them and threw them on. I have tried several aftermarket shocks, and these are by far my favorites. Well, enough of me blabbing, (can't help it, I just love this truck) how bout some pics.

Actually, I started last night by finishing my ho-made servo winch. Tonight I'm putting new foams in the tires, adding some big ol' Beef Patties and finally upgrading the shocks. I'm going with Gmade's that have the adjustable reservoir. I put a set of these on the bouncer I just finished and really like the way you can limit the travel by just turning a little screw, and so far they aint leaking :) We will see how they perform on Stumpy this coming weekend.

I got some hot racing c hubs, strc diff covers and got rid off my cheap gmade beadlocks and installed pro line denali beadlocks. What a pain, 32 screws in each wheel but they look good and have some decent weight to them. I'v searched but how do i post pics?
