What is a BEC

Battery Eliminator Circuit.

They were created for airplanes....so that when the battery was not providing enough power to the motor, it would still power the servos so the plan could land. We use external BECs to provide a specific voltage and constant current to our high torque servos.
 
Your right Im sure there are plenty if you know what you are looking for I didnt have a clue what the abbreviation meant so when I searched it I couldnt find it. Thanks for the info JeremyH
