I wanna be Dave
So after meeting Barry of CCC and a couple members of his Team, obebaldone1 an Cliff1119, at ECC. I started taking a look at a new setup and direction for my pro rig.
RIcrawler, had always talked about Berg this and Berg that.. "When ur ready for a real set of axles"... :ror:
Since everything I run is on the "discontinued" side of the hobby, I decided to mesh it all together!
I started chatting with Barry one day and then the wheels started turning, so I chatted some more.. Dam well chatted myself right into some axles! Then into a chassis and links.. :/
So a few days ago I Finally
got a box in the mail.. (No I don't have a pic of all the parts laid out)..
I got the works.. CCC Berg axles, modified uni's to work with VP C's an Knuckle's, and a couple sets of Rc4wd Berg gears.

I went the cheap route and got the fresh out of the mill, non polished setup... Big Mistake! Lol.. As I wanted it built and on the rocks already, not mess around with sanding and polishing.. Oops..
I recommend having it done straight from CCC
I also shaved the front of the servo mount and sanded that..

Then I went to work on the rear axle and got that all rounded away..

I'll be doin some testing on the rear axle with some delrin slim Shift hubs from Lattice Innovations as well as on my other rigs.

If they hold up to crawling for a while, I'm goin to give them a run for there money on my wraith for some abuse testing!
Ok, back to the new Dog, well more like a Mutt! The quality of the work was top notch and once put together, made for a very rigid an stout feeling chassis.

I can't leave much alone, without a dremel in hand, at some point.. So as I looked over builds for the OG, Pitbull chassis, and the Mutt, I quickly realized I had to open up the "front window" and get rid of that "wing window"..

I got the separate parts built and laid out.

Just in time to realize it's a slider and not a roller..
I jumped in my parts, looking to stay with the red up front, grabbed a set of red ano'd Shift hubs that I have had waiting for there time to shine..

You can see the number one, top quality, steering arm's from CW crawlers on there. Next to them are the new faces I got at BG from ECD and installed. I pulled my old faces and reused the rest.

I have some CI foams and BC's waiting there turn to get mounted up and back on the rocks, or maybe the 5.5" cut n shut BC's by TurboTech. Undecided......
And finally, the lungs and hearts of the rig.. HH Br mini's matched to a set of HH 13t 500 puller's. I have this setup in my XR and they have taken my driving to a whole new level. From there smooth startup, on demand power, punch, and wheel speed. (To get you up that face, across that gap, our simply to get back on all 4's) It wasn't even a thought on which direction to go.
Couple that with a CC bec, Hitec 7980, and a airtronics MT-4. It's a recipe for the best electronics a Mutt could ask to be trained on!
