So after meeting Barry of CCC and a couple members of his Team, obebaldone1 an Cliff1119, at ECC. I started taking a look at a new setup and direction for my pro rig.
RIcrawler, had always talked about Berg this and Berg that.. "When ur ready for a real set of axles"... :ror:

Since everything I run is on the "discontinued" side of the hobby, I decided to mesh it all together!
I started chatting with Barry one day and then the wheels started turning, so I chatted some more.. Dam well chatted myself right into some axles! Then into a chassis and links.. :/

So a few days ago I Finally :) got a box in the mail.. (No I don't have a pic of all the parts laid out)..

I got the works.. CCC Berg axles, modified uni's to work with VP C's an Knuckle's, and a couple sets of Rc4wd Berg gears.

I went the cheap route and got the fresh out of the mill, non polished setup... Big Mistake! Lol.. As I wanted it built and on the rocks already, not mess around with sanding and polishing.. Oops..

I recommend having it done straight from CCC

I also shaved the front of the servo mount and sanded that..

Then I went to work on the rear axle and got that all rounded away..

I'll be doin some testing on the rear axle with some delrin slim Shift hubs from Lattice Innovations as well as on my other rigs.

If they hold up to crawling for a while, I'm goin to give them a run for there money on my wraith for some abuse testing! :)

Ok, back to the new Dog, well more like a Mutt! The quality of the work was top notch and once put together, made for a very rigid an stout feeling chassis.

I can't leave much alone, without a dremel in hand, at some point.. So as I looked over builds for the OG, Pitbull chassis, and the Mutt, I quickly realized I had to open up the "front window" and get rid of that "wing window"..

I got the separate parts built and laid out.

Just in time to realize it's a slider and not a roller..
I jumped in my parts, looking to stay with the red up front, grabbed a set of red ano'd Shift hubs that I have had waiting for there time to shine..

You can see the number one, top quality, steering arm's from CW crawlers on there. Next to them are the new faces I got at BG from ECD and installed. I pulled my old faces and reused the rest.

uploadfromtaptalk1401660294862.jpg

I have some CI foams and BC's waiting there turn to get mounted up and back on the rocks, or maybe the 5.5" cut n shut BC's by TurboTech. Undecided......

And finally, the lungs and hearts of the rig.. HH Br mini's matched to a set of HH 13t 500 puller's. I have this setup in my XR and they have taken my driving to a whole new level. From there smooth startup, on demand power, punch, and wheel speed. (To get you up that face, across that gap, our simply to get back on all 4's) It wasn't even a thought on which direction to go.
Couple that with a CC bec, Hitec 7980, and a airtronics MT-4. It's a recipe for the best electronics a Mutt could ask to be trained on!

Thanks Carey and John!

Sorry about the axle pic.. Stupid updated tapacrap!

They were posted in order as I typed.. Deep breath.. And relax.. Lol.. I'll see what I can do to fix it

Sooooo..... How long have you been trying to talk him into this change?. Lol

Since before you knew his first name! Lol..

Christian was a big part of this as well. He is a good friend in the RC world of things. His chassis's from CCC has been all he has talked about since he got them.
It seems I have followed or more so bought pretty much all his old chassis's this far. (Back to the side of bein cheap..) Lol..

And they have all performed as he said and kept me crawling into podiums.. Let's continue that path! ;)

Nice Troy... You won't be disappointed! Wanna see that thing running by the 14th!!!"thumbsup"

Only thing holding it back from bein rtr is the new power plants..

Would like a dozen packs they it before I drop my XR, that has 2 top 5 finishes on it at qualifier's.. 5th at ECC and 2nd at BG.. Hard to give that up on a wim.. Lol..

It's going to be hard to pull his grip from that XR but I think he will be very happy with this set up. I seen your stash of extras in the trunk of your car Troy this thing should be running.

So will you make the switch before nats? I know this was your major issue on that less than epic ride back from alabamatenniseenewmexico. I'm super pleased to see that you've committed to the new tech. It will be nice to hear how these hold up. Barry can attest to these but I don't believe he has customer that drives as frequently as you do. If they hold up to your life style, mine will last forever!! You will have to wait until next season ( barring serious tragedy ) to see mine. Which works to my advantage in a big way. While I'll not be parting with my dominator, I'll see the mods you make to yours this season. I'll have the winter to dial mine in:). Congrats bro!! Welcome to the axles that don't require a parts wall to own!!

Oh I predict this fella be the first to wear them completely through to the inners! If anyone will test the longevity of these..... It will be this guy. I just can't wait to hear him say..... "why did I wait so long"...... Lol

The axles look to wide to me :lmao:

Excellent parts list, a sweet beginning to a awesome build. "thumbsup"

dEver since I switched to bergs I'll never look back I was lucky to get my hands on a stacked set of CCC pro axles and the bulldog chassis links and CCC beadlocks I can attest to the fact they won't let u down I've put my rig in some pretty rough places

It will be hard indeed! I have been told from a team driver, that team the SMASH, that this is a solid chassis. So I'm hoping it takes off
In all my lines and then some!

Hey now! I have/had to carry that stash of extras. Never knew when something would break! :)

The switch may just be before Nat's, if not before the NENQ.. ;)

The funny part is.. I asked Barry, last night, "what happens when I wear thru a case" and "has anyone dine it yet?"
He LAUGHED at me! That SOB.... Haha..
He confirmed that they are guaranteed for Life!
Then he dared me and told me it couldn't be done! Waahahahaha!!!!!!!.....
