WTF Tony Stewart

Don't step into the driving line of a race car that has no lights while wearing black and you likely won't get run the fawk over. Darwin to the rescue.

I'll give you that, never understood what compels a driver to get out of the relative safety of their car and chase or throw their helmets at other drivers.

Thank you.

It's tragic for sure but was bad judgement to walk out into the middle of a dark race track. A life was lost and a career possibly ruined by a moment of bad judgement.

Sad.

I'm sorry, it is called racing. You got spun out, it happens. You are an idiot to walk down a race track at night in all black at a nice race. No ill will towards the deceased, but that was not the smartest move ever.

Just here came to share this.

That is a seriously bad situation. So dumb, and so unfortunate.

If they had seen their official training movie, they would have known rubbin' is racin'.

I guess the baby jesus, the jewish god, allah, and even tom cruise could not help him.

This is not good for racing, and I don't think Tony Stewart is to blame but his past doesn't help his argument.

Damn, feel sorry for the family. They lost someone but they are going to have to deal with all the bad mouthing and news interviews, etc. **** that.

This is not good for racing

Won't change a thing except remind people to not charge a race track full of ****ing cars! It's not hard people! Tony, assuming he didn't kinda swerve a little to uh, clip someone, has got to be pissed off. I'm pissed off.

That track def needs some higher watt light bulbs...

I don't see how he could have even seen the guy.

Sorry about that, but he was taking a big gamble.

on a related note this has to happen a lot.

pics below of one lucky bro.

One of the scariest moments of the weekend was this pass on the inside of the Corkscrew. The Mustang driver got punted in the wall and the car flipped immediately.

The driver of the Mustang got out, and my heart dropped for a moment as I thought he was going to run into race traffic. But he stopped and just pointed at the Aston Martin driver, shaming him for what he had done. It’s definitely a moment I will never forget.

They both f 'd up, and one racer lost his life. The dumb ass shouldn't have exited his car. But being the obvious dick, had to run onto the track for what...let Tony know how pissed he is at him? You take care of that shit in the pits, not on the track. The other thing is, was the caution thrown before Tony came back around? If he hit him under caution, he better get a good story together for the detectives.

You know what the worst part is? Listen to the sound of a car accelerate as he hit him. Notice I said a car, not his car. I will not be the one to dictate whether Stewart hit the gas pedal there. However, it sure as hell sounded and looked like Stewart hit the gas pedal.

I find it hard to believe there was ill intent, and certainly not on this level.

Video: Tony Stewart Runs Over Driver During Confrontation, Killing Him

From the video clip though, it looks like Stewart swerved towards the guy and blipped the throttle. I'm also sure Stewart had some kind of camera on his car that caught footage of the accident. But the kid still had a laps in judgment and walked towards a race car.

If that's the case, the Tony is up shits creek. If his intention was to spray the guy with dirt as he went by, then he obviously miscalculated his move. He can't claim it was an accident. His reputation as a hot head won't help him either. Maybe it's time for him to just get out of the seat and play team owner on a full time basis. If he can't help his urge to race, then maybe he should race his r/c cars more often.

Keep in mind that these are dirt cars... You have to be on the throttle to get them to turn quickly. Assuming Stewart was caught off guard seeing this young kid in his way, he would of had to blip the throttle to get it to turn out of the way.

That is my experience anyhow. Both my wife and I grew up around dirt tracks. My father in law use to race sprint cars, ran ARCA and drag raced. Simple rule... Stay in your race car. If you have beef... Handel it in the pits.
Not only did he put himself in harms way, but did so to the other drivers that went past him as well. Unfortunately it was Tony that hit him. had it been any other driver, it would have never made the news.
