WV Trail Run Recon Style

The water is a blast You just have to be careful about the magic smoke that happens every once in a while.

Bearings are what usually fails on my truck. I finally had to replace the bearings in my trans and front end... Some of them wouldn't spin at all. Good thing bearing are cheap. If you ask me, running in water and mud is what makes scalers so much fun. If I wanted to just run on rocks, I'd run my comp truck.

If I had my electronics water proofed I wouldn't care to run in the water but until I decide to do that I don't want to ruin hundreds of dollars in electronics.

Put everything in a balloon or a small project box from radio shack. For the servo just pack it with dielectic grease.

I don't think radio shack makes a project box that will fit in mine...the only area I have is beside of the CMS...I'll have to look and see what I can find. The interior makes for a tight fit. Or put it in the rear of the interior and disguise it as something else. What box would you hid in the rear of a Hummer H3? subwoofer? large cooler? luggage?

lol - I'd say you've got plenty of time...my truck is in the same shape as it was in the pic above :lmao:

ok - I just read the rules for the recon events...I don't have a winch or scale accessories and really don't plan on worrying about any of that (at least not at this point). Probably won't participate in a recon event.

can someone post a link to the recon rules i been away from crawlers for way too long.

2012 RECON G6 Challenge Guidelines and Rules

Basically, there really aren't any major rules. It's gotta be a scaler and you need some scale stuff on your ride. You also have to have a tow rope. The only times you can touch your rig is to use the winch/recovery stuff and to repair it... No "hand of god" so if you get your truck stuck, you can't just pick it up.

Im about 80% ready for this, still got a few things to do and work out on my rig but its getting ever so close. took it on its virgin run yesterday. done well
