XR10 Mod for AX10 Axles Parts List

Oh, No. Might go ahead and build them with the Axial stuff and replace a little at a time, gotta get me some tubes and have been looking for Wheely King axles by there self and can only find the conversion set with the lockouts for like $50.

So if I read everything correctly, if you want your rear the same width as the front, you need to use 2 xr long rear shafts? And what lockouts, xr or ax?

When you do the mod the rears won't be the same width as the front they will be the same width as xr10 rear axles. To do this you will need long/wide beef tubes, 2x XR short shafts, XR lockouts.

You could make them the same width by getting custom beef tubes made and using the long shafts but it would probably cost more. I would just use a longer hub in the rear.

You can always cut the long one down the 5mm or whatever th diff is an flatten the end to fit the lockout..

The problem I just ran into was with after market lockers, ie: vp or EGRESSor lockers.. the set screw sit in on the lockers an could use the long shaft for both holes.. haha... But the two short sides work fine in a axial hd locker or the HR locker..

Now I just need to find a long side that someone has sitting around...

Just finished my AXR-10 axles tonight 8) Used the Creationfab premium tubes and all stock Axial XR10 parts. This is the result ...

I got more pics of building these up in my thread: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-ax-10-scorpion/429284-haastnooits-axr10-2-2-shafty.html

CreeperBob can make you a set of WK length axle shafts for the rear axle conversion. I sent him an axle shaft so he could dimension it. I developed the longer beef toobs w/ KC_Jones, my rear setup was done around the STRC WK axle shafts, which are no longer available. CreeperBob stepped up and can now make the shafts.

Finally broke a stock knuckle on my ax/10 and time for a change. How well are the stock xr chubs and knuckles holding up? My rig is 5.75lb. And can this get stickied?

I ran mine hard and never had a problem. But I also used all thread for steering linkage so it would flex if I got in a bind or if I tumbled. I don't know how well it will hold up on a heavier rig since mine was 4lbs on the dot.

Thanks for this thread it's exactly what I have been looking for as I'm planning a sportsman build soon, is this a similar thread for a built ax10 transmission?

Was basically just seeing if there's a thread with a build up if the ax10 transmission listing parts used or part numbers etc , similar to this thread on the diffs

You only need "AX30487 Scorpion crawler AX10 locked transmission set" and a spurgear (stock 87T) and pinion (Stock 14T) off your choice to build up a complete tranny.

Offcourse you can update the tranny with several aftermarket parts for the outputshafts, internal gears and bearings.

I highly recommend installing a few more button heads along the length of the cae and tubes for added strength.

this weekend at the Shootout, JD had his installed like yours and pulled a whole tube out from the case before even reaching gate 1. This was due to the fact that the premium tubes require you to trim the case end where the C screws originally go, leaving not enough material to secure the tubes sufficiently.

Use These pics for reference"thumbsup"

I know and already did that . That pic was taken before drilling holes for the extra screws, Chubs and lockouts. But I thank you guys for the effort of catching my back "thumbsup"

Question. I used Wheely King axles on my modded rear setup.
Those axle shafts are gone and i am looking to do another rear axle setup. I read through this thread and still cant determine if I use the long or short XR10 straight axles for the rear. And which lockouts.
