XR Short straight shafts require XR10 lockouts.

XR long straight shafts require AX10 lockouts.

Unless you wanna cut down long xr straight shafts to work with XR lockouts.

I used 2x 110mm xr rear inner shafts with wraith plastic lock outs. It's holding up fine many comps on this rig now. I didn't use creation fab tubes.

Question. I used Wheely King axles on my modded rear setup.
Those axle shafts are gone and i am looking to do another rear axle setup. I read through this thread and still cant determine if I use the long or short XR10 straight axles for the rear. And which lockouts.

Shane, I used 2 long side XR shafts with the XR lockouts. It was bout 1/8" too long(the lockout wouldn't seat all the way on the beef tube) I took the dremel lightly to the locker area of the axle(to make the flat tang part longer) and slid it in.. fully seated and no side to side slop. The axles don't slide in to let the pin or hex rub on the bearing or lockout.. pretty sweet!

I'm just putting together my build using stock plastic XR10 knuckles, am I correct in thinking that the stock knuckles do not give much steering improvement ?
Also, I've googled for the VP XR10 knuckles but they seem to be out of production / out of stock everywhere.
What knuckles can I use best for maximum steering for my wide XR10 mod ?

VP wraith Knuckle's are most widely used..
Some guys are goin with the new style clamping C's and scale wraith knucks.. They have built in steering stops..

Is there a rear axle shaft available? Axial 30758 seems to be out of stock everywhere, as well as the wheely king. Is creeper bob still making these? Anyone else? Trying to decide if this is the best option...

Creeper Bob was the only place that I could find XR rear axles. He did a great job on the pair that I bought for my XR. I also bought a pair for my shafty from him.

Super shafty makes steel ones but that's heavy and they are the same price basically as creeper bob so I'd get the ti ones ... I have stock xr ones long or short if anyone wanted some

And vp wraith knuckles are the way to go .... If you use vp xr knuckles they are limited and need to be modded for maximum throw ... I have some I can mod and sell you if you want

Cheers guys, I hadn't worked on my AX10 in a long long while but finally I got all the parts together - shout out to CreeperBob for the axle shafts and CreationFab for the splines.

I’ve been asked several times lately for a list of required and recommended parts for the XR10 modification to the AX10 axles so I decided to write up a list. This thread will include part numbers and some RCC vendors who carry them. It will also have my recommendations on what to use. These recommendations are purely my opinion and can be replaced with your favorite brand of hop-up parts.

1. XR10 Universals – AXI30563

2. XR10 Straight Axles – AXI30758 (You will need two of the 110mm shafts so either order two of this part or cut and grind the longer 117mm shaft.)

3. XR10 Knuckles – AXI80061 ( I prefer Vanquish Incision Knuckles)

4. XR10 C-Hubs – AXI80062 (I prefer Vanquish Incision C-Hubs)

5. XR10 Lockouts – AXI80064 (I prefer Vanquish Incision Lockouts)



Beef Tube Options

1. Biggin69 (Longer Beef Tubes)

2. Chris_The_Battery_Man (Wide Splined – Front)(Wide Un-Splined – Rear)



Hardware Needed (Note: Your hop-up parts may include hardware.)
