No. The 297x joint 30 shafts use the same shaft as a 44 but the ball joint size & spacing, failure prone unit bearings and tiny pinion on the 30 are not as strong as a 44. The 35 is 100% garbage. All the money in the world can't fix that piece of junk.

Dragging a diff is no big deal that what covers are for. I'd much rather have a 44 and lose some ground clearance than dump a bunch of cash into a 30/35 to make it just as strong. If its a street queen then keep the 30/35 if its gonna be wheeled then upgrade the axles. Most of my customers that buy parts to upgrade their 30/35's do so piece by piece because that's all they can afford. If someone asked to purchase gears, lockers and shafts all at the same time I would really try to talk them into an axle swap instead. Just my $.02

been about 10 yrs since i built both my yj's ... getting old. it was pricy but held up to rocks tip overs and unbelievable thrashings i did use a high doller u joint that had no needle bearings i forget the brand. the dragging diffs i still dis agree with it was awsome to be able to drive thru and over things buddies were dragging on ..:-)
