| PROJECT ~BEATER YOTA~ Part 2
Well...as some of you may have seen....I sold my "Beater Yota" awhile back. I got lucky enough to work out a deal to get the body back/keep the body. SO...here's the rebuild...Part 2 ! I decided to get rid of the homemade interior and I found an acceptable deal on an original Bruiser/Mountaineer Interior....so I installed that...along with one of RC4WD's Clear window sets. I trimmed out the back window...because I wanted to keep my Tinted window because I like the looks of the tinted rear window and I like the decals that are on it. Corey (RPP) was sold out of SCX chassis'....but a quick email to him...and he pointed me in the direction of another SCX chassis that he had on the bay...from a recent new truck part out. So I got my chassis. This time...I decided to build the chassis up a bit. Here's my upgrades: Aluminum "C's" and Knuckles for the front axle Aluminum Rear Lockouts for the rear axle Heavy Duty Lockers Aluminum SCX SHOCKS Stock Axial 4 link setup for rear axle All aluminum links with anodizing removed and then I sanded the links out smooth PUNISHER SHAFTS HiTec 5645mg Metal Geared...Digital Servo ROOSTER CRAWLER ESC Axial 27t Motor New Axial Tranny w/slipper 1.9" TRUESCALE BEADLOCK WHEELS...and some of 62Pyro's rings that I customized to fit the truescale's. 1.9" Truescale non beadlock for the spare (I customized it by making up a beadlock ring for it to make it match the others) NEW 1.55" Rock Stomper tires (5) NEW 2s 5200mah 30-40C discharge HARDCASED Lipo Battery x 2 2.4ghz RX I added in some Shifters to the interior for looks......and then I went ahead and assembled my Chassis and all the new goodies for it. I got it all finished up and running and I LOVE IT.....the 27t is great for slow crawling...and it has LOTS of Wheelspeed for hillclimbs and mudruns...etc. I mainly trail run...in the woods here in Indiana...some rocks occasionally...but mostly wooded trails/hills/ravines/ruts/mud...etc. I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking Last edited by BiG_DaWgZ; 11-07-2010 at 11:45 PM. |

Thanks These interiors are getting harder to find...I've seen quite a few of them sell for $55-$75 + SHIPPING....lately...on ebay ! I've bought them for as cheap as $20..in the past tho...if u see one for $40 or less...delivered...you better jump on it...because it's usually gone pretty quickly ! Thanks Bro !! I'm drilling out the new DH FABRICATION SLIDERS that I got from you right now They're goin on it...and probably one of your AWESOME front bumpers too !!!! I'm also adding in some of your Decals onto the rig later today MORE PICS TO COME ! Thanks ! Last edited by BiG_DaWgZ; 07-19-2010 at 12:35 AM.

Well...I did some more "Beater" body work today....I fixed the lil holes that are down on the rocker panels...and then I sanded them out. I also put the bottom door "line" back into the body. I'm probably just gonna leave them like they are...or I may throw some spotty patches of primer on the places. I also fixed the hole in the center of the hood...a bit better than it was. Then...I went around the body...and filled in the worst scratches...but then sanded them back out flush so they still have that "BEATER" Look ! I also "blacked out" the space in between the bed and the cab with some flat black paint and a brush. I've got 1 of my DH FAB Rocker Sliders Drilled out !!!! I drilled out double holes....that way I can set these up tight against the body....or move them DOWN...in case I ever use them on a different body...or a different setup. I also added my DH FAB Sticker on my Tail Gate Here's some pics: Thanks ARON |

...I've been adding a few more places here and there. Places that I KNOW typically rust out from past Yota 1:1's that I've owned ! Thanks for the props.....I appreciate it alot ! Thanks...those mirrors are standard hilift hilux mirrors...that have been painted an "off/flat white". Aron

| Thanks...are you planning on getting a regular Hilift Toyota Hilux.....or are you going to build one like this one.....with an Axial SCX Chassis/Drivetrain....and the Tamiya body parts? I was just wondering....I've owned a few of the Original Tamiya Hilift Toyota Hilux's....but I really didn't like the way that their transmissions hang WAY low...and I didn't like the look of the Hilift's Straight chassis. The Tamiya chassis just doesn't look nearly as scale...to me anyways...and they don't perform nearly as good as an Axial SCX does (IMO). Aron |

Awesome tuck! you need to come to Madison and do some trail running with us at Clifty Falls state park. The park has tons of great scale crawling. Do you go to the Rox Box? We are attending the scale & 2.2 comp tomorrow.
