Default 1/4 Elliptical F-Toy #250

This is my take on a Toyota F-Toy #250. I started out by making a jig for the main frame. I am running ¼ elliptical rear suspension with leaf springs up front. I am far from done but thought I would show what I have so far. Future plan is panels and a 2 speed trans up front with a t-case of some sort and as much scale parts and items as I can come up with. I am putting this in the 1.5 section for now, I am not sure if I will keep 1.5 on it or move up to 1.9. Thanks for looking.

Thanks, the jig made it easy and will allow me to make a few more if i want. there is a few things i would do different on the next one. I don't care for how big the front hanger is and i also think i leaned the top pieces in tow far to the center.

Well it has been way to long sense I have posted on this with an update of any kind. My plan was to do an actual build thread with progress pics along the way but my Dad ran into some health issues and had a surgery and some stuff come up. Now that he is ok, I have had time to get back on this but haven’t taken the pics or time to do a proper thread. Anyways on to some pictures. I will have more this evening when I get home and start putting it back together to add to it.

This is as far as i can get tonight. I need more hardware and to make a new piece for the rear steering. I still have a lot to do. I would like to do a full interior of some sort anyways its a roller, enjoy.

Ok, so I got the rear steer figured out and ready to be disassembled and painted. I didn't like the "S" steering rod I had originally had on there and it had lots of bump steer. I remember seeing a 1:1 rig with this set up and decided to try it. It’s perfect with 0 bump steer.

Ok, so I know that running a single leaf up front the way I am would twist and bend/break it pretty fast. I didn't want this to be a ongoing problem and decided to build a track bar like the one I have on my 1:1.

Great looking build! That steering is very interesting, no bump steer huh? Those tires are awesome, they really well.

As far as I can tell right now there is no bump steer, true test will be when I get it up and driving in a week or two. Thanks for the compliment. lots have people have looked but no real talkers lol

Very nice, I look forward to some updates. What are your plans for the rest of the running gear and power.

Thanks for the compliment but its really not hard. Only "special" tool i have is a welder. Pick up some soldering supplies and give it a shot.

I just got a waterproof HH in the mail and plan to run a 35t on 4s. I am not sure how long the motor will last with that but I don’t really care sense it’s just an old one I have laying around. I still need to do the over drive in the front and finish up the interior. I just wish I had more time.
