If you have a good hunt about some of the older stuff is slightly rubberised.
Strip out the electric cable and carefully slice down one side.
You can then slide it round a piece of vlear plastic.

Going off now to find a picture to explain.

That is actually was Matt and Rich suggested as well, I just have to pick up some cable and give it a try.
