GCM wheels, super nice. Easy to mount to tires.

Haha, forgot about those. I repainted them black when they got rusty and crusty.

Just one picture but shows a lot. Lot's of building up and sanding to convert a first generation to a second generation. Most people skip these important steps and get trucks that kinda look right but that's not good enough. Don't just build new fender flares and call it a day.

Looks good so far. Your build actually made me vertue into the Ascender section and I like the looks of the truck. I think I'll pick up a slider for a Toy body I just got.

Thanks for posting pics of the progress if the 1st to 2nd gen transformation. I can't tell but did you sand the hood completely smooth?

After I read the first part of your comment I was like, slider? What are you going to do with a little cheeseburger? Then I figured it out. Lol, I'm new to this.

Yes, I cut the raised part out of the middle. Then I built up the front edge with styrene. Finally I sanded it all down flat. You need to eliminate the curvature of the hood. Once I'm satisfied with this I will skin it with a single piece of styrene before adding the second gen hood details.

LOL, I just came back on after a look break and saw every one referring to slider for sale/wanted and I thought WTF is a slider after a day I figured it out..I'm a bit slow. Hmm, I think I wanna try this on my Wromcho truggy but I gotta pinch the nose first...at my speed the pinch should be done in about 6 monthes

Who could forget, just waiting patiently. That Jeep needed all the help it could get so it took all your attention

Still rough but the basic shape is there. Lot's of work ahead of me.

If I didn't point this out nobody would notice but... I shaved the window frames to match the second gen trucks better and also filed down the tops of the doors on an angle. The B pillar will need work still.

Awww

Doors were welded shut for rigidity.

How fast do you work? I have 4 more days to finish this.

Ah, starting too look like a truck. Been working on this all weekend. I managed to make an RC4WD bumper work with this chassis. It saved me a ton of work and I think it looks good.

Brazed simple sliders and rear bumper.

Flexin' Friday

What's left...
Radiator core support
Headlight buckets
Front inner fenders
Paint body
Interior
Electronics
Test drive

Agreed. Nice work, and the front bumper totally fits. I am a big fan of the low profile sliders. All the protection, but nice and subtle.

Noob, you need to make me a second gen extended cab. I will send you the bodies and be very very patient. I have a 1.1 84 ext cab and would love to have a custom body built by Sir Richard

Thanks, that's what she said. Nothing fancy, waterproof Savox servo, Sidewinder 3 and an Axial 35t.

How patient is very very? Say... 4 years?

Sorry I sucked with updating the thread. It was down to the wire before the first comp. Finished it the night before and had a few minutes to test at Smiggin's Folly with imthatguy. We were more focused on testing and shooting a video for the new Pit Bull Alien Dog Puppy tires though.

COMPING

WINNING. Sort of.

Much greet. This truck did very well. And didn't fall off any wooden bridges, so that's a good thing.
