Thanks man. Really looking forward to driving it.

I'm unsure what I want to do as far as paint goes. Part of me wants to do traditional two tone but what colors? I can't decide.... the other part of me really likes the Blackfoot decals. They really fit the era but I'm not sure how long I will be able to look at it with all the big "Blackfoot" lettering.

I would keep it black. it would look so clean. and nice work on the axles. it will compliment the body choice.

What about the tamiya srb ranger decals close to the blackfoot but don't say Blackfoot all over them.

Thank you, I was contemplating keeping it black so when it gets scratched, it wont look so bad but kinda want another color. Maybe I'll need to get a second body for it. Lol

Yeah, good idea. I was looking at those on Ebay. Not sure yet on the color combo though.

I've seen the decal in white and gold.

Finally got the suspension buttoned up. I used the tiny Losi Mini-T shocks all the way around. Plenty of travel for this somewhat stockish build.

I had to make spacers for the tops of the shocks to allow them to pivot when articulating without binding. The screws are 2mm so yeah, they are tiny. Probably some of the smallest things I've made on my lathe.

I couldn't wait, here she is with the body on.... and of course the mandatory flex shot.

+1. I was just frustrated as hell trying to braze together a headache rack. Seeing your work is inspiring.

How do those body mounts work? Does the body have sockets molded in to accept those?

Thank you very much! Its a lot of work and seems to take forever sometimes. I make it hard on myself by using a crappy mapp/pro torch setup instead of a micro torch.
I've had to redo numerous things, so frustrating. Lol

The body mounts are like any other. Only difference is there's a groove around it instead of a hole for the body pin.

What did you use to trim the bumper off the grill? I need to do the same but don't want to hack job it.

I used an exact ad scored it, started with several light scores to get a consistent grove followed by heavier pressure then I bent it back and it broke off.
I've also used a saw blade on a dremel at a fairly slow speed. Too fast and you melt the plastic, too slow and it's hard on the dremel.

awesome build, I built a MST CMX with the blackfoot body about 2 years ago, always like to see blackfoot builds.

Ok. Almost sounds like how one would cut styrene. At At least from my research I've read. Haven't got that far yet.

Thank you, I too have a CMX, great little rig! However, the axles are a bit big for the smaller size of this body and my tire choice. The Yeti Jr axles are pretty much perfect for this.

Thank you, it's getting there. I've got a few motor choices but leaning towards the old Holmes Hobbies 380 motor. They kick ass on 3s in tiny tire rigs. Just need some new brushes for it.

I was originally going to build this as a modified stock looking truck but the Ebay seller I bought vinyl stickers from never sent what I ordered. Said he would ASAP after I filed a claim but here we are empty handed months later.

Anyhow, thought I'd put the Blackfoot stickers on and see how it looks. I like. The look fits with the HPI interior, think il detail it a bit more and maybe add some lights when I can.
